raising the dead in Voyager - let's count the ways

Kio

How many ways can someone die and be brought back to life in Voyager? Let's use a very broad definition of death - if it looks like death to you, then it counts.

To get us started:

1. come back from a parallel dimension (Kim and Naomi in Deadlock)
2. fight the soul-sucking alien in your head and get CPR (Janeway in Coda(?))

Nanoprobes modified to compensate for cellular degradation seemed to work for Neelix ;) (Mortal Coil).

Or if the Kobali come across your corpse floating in space ala Lindsay Ballard (Ashes to Ashes).

5. Get help from a future Janeway who gets to the ship brought back to earth three years before you die (Seven in Endgame)

6. Let yourself be duplicated, so that when they die you're actually still alive (B'elanna in Course:Oblivion)

7. Don't be Joe Carey (poor Joe in Friendship One)

I could have sworn there were a lot more of these, but I guess not.

- be a hologram and get shut off, then turned back on
- Chakotay's soul was wandering the halls in one episode. If lack of a soul can equate to death, then outsmart the alien possessing people and reintegrate your soul and body

Get harvested from your grave and remade into a zombie like Lindsay.

Swapped out with a duplicate form a quantum scission like in Deadlock.

You've also got Ensign Kaplan who was killed in "Unity" but came back in "Vis-a-Vis" for a quick game of golf. And then died again before "Workforce" if I remember correctly. Not sure if it was the golf that rose her from the dead though.

:guffaw:

You could also crash your ship into a device that alters time lines and come back at a point about a year in the past (Janeway in Year of Hell).

Actually, the one above should be integrated into the most-used category of all: HIT THE RESET BUTTON!

I never really got what the deal was with the reset button. Year of Hell qualifies as a reset, but that's the only one I can think of. What am missing?

Any episode where the status quo is restored at the end is generally considered a reset. Kind of too general a definition if you ask me.
