I'd like to thank all those who did my rather difficult challenge this month. Here's the vote. You may vote for two stories. I set it to close in four days. Hopefully, that's enough time for everyone.
No, I was trying to link names in the poll to their stories. Only to find out that poll options can't be more than 100 characters, so I re-did it. I haven't messed with polls before.
Ho boy... that was a difficult decision! I was certain that Mistral's Crystal Clear Truth was my first choice - I don't care if it isn't canonically correct, I liked the story and the science. But I could not decide between captcalhoun's Line of Fire and Xeris's Tsunami. In the end I went for captcalhoun's story - mainly because it was a different approach to the challenge, and it was a neat way to get twentieth century weaponry into a fight against Klingons!
One of our secret voters has only voted for one story. Just thought I'd mention it in case it was a mistake. (and thanks for Dnoth and my two secret voters for my votes so far )
Damage-thanks. I pretty much said who I was going to vote for-and I did. While I would NEVER risk pissing off our moderator-I have to say Xeris put up an effort truer in some ways to the idea behind the challenge (as I interpreted it.) I think nearly everybody did a great job this time around. No shame to anyone for their efforts(well, except me-still don't know how I blew such a great idea to pieces like that. C'est la vie-I'll come out swinging next month.)
That was me, the single voter. I voted for one story because it says you can vote for up to two, not that you had to vote for two. -- ZC
That's cool - I just remembered from a couple of challenges ago, someone hadn't noticed that they could vote for two. So I wanted to be sure it was a deliberate decision.
The Experiment and Oranges were my votes. I liked Oranges because it was a simple routine problem but centuries later caught our heroes out. But absolutely loved The Experiment - it so a Data thing to do - and Spot is a much underused character.
I'm tied for first place! Holy cow! Wow! Thanks Dnoth for making a challenge that forced me to write something different - I guess I should write medical stories more often! Thanks for all the comments and votes, folks! So, RevdKathy, what now? thumb-wrestle?
I suggest a write-off. Five sentences forming a complete story. Dnoth picks the subject. What do you think, RevdKathy?
why not a tie-breaker vote where we have to vote for one? or, seeing a si got the least votes, i could cast the decider...
