TOS Engineering (MotS Mod)

Can you post a few wireframe or wider external views with key walls missing? I'm curious to see the geography of how all these little spaces relate to each other.

Hope this gives a clear picture of how the levels fit together.

Deck 7 is pretty much a facsimile of the original Desilu stage 9 design, minus engineering and the living quarters. I know that logically that sickbay would probably be further away from the transporter room and briefing room, but this project isn't meant to be a deck by deck representation and is more a setting for a game. I plan on adding the armory and the security section down the upper left radial corridor.

Deck 19 has a long way to go. In the screenshot, you can see where I've placed the dilithium control room in relationship to main engineering. I know that the dilithium control room actually opened up into a larger room on "The Alternative Factor", but for the purpose of the mod I've placed it opening up into a corridor. Directly across the corridor from this room is the ladderway up to the Emergency Manual Monitor.
Directly aft of engineering will be a large cargo bay, followed by the shuttlebay. Other areas I plan on adding are a Chief Engineer's office, an engineer's mess, and possibly some quarters for the engineering staff.

And just to satisfy any other curiosities, here is a list of all the decks and areas either complete (*) or planned (I'm using Mike Okuda's deck layout
Deck 1 - Bridge*
Deck 5 - Officer's Quarters, Crew Quarters, Officer's Mess, Ship's Chapel
Deck 7 - Transporter Room*, Briefing Room*, Armory, Security, Sickbay Complex*
Deck 11 - Phaser Control Room
Deck 19 - Engineering*, Cargo Bay, Shuttlebay

Other areas I may add (deck placement to be decided) - Computer Core, Library Lounge, Bowling Alley, Gymnasium, Ship's Theater, Observation Lounge

Can anyone think of any more areas I could add? Things like the bowling alley will probably be Easter Eggs.

The "Deck 7" map reminds me of Matt Jefferies "lost set" miniature that was highlighted in the Star Trek Sketchbook. The "Deck 19" map looks like it would be a fun play set for TOS-themed action figures.

Heh...have the Bowling Alley only accessible by the player entering certain coordinates into the transporter console and beaming there, then have a one-way door to exit back into the main map, that way people can't get there by just going through that door.

Incredible work Donny!!

Perhaps, the bathroom (head?) could be reached via a secret passage or secret transporter coordinates as mentioned above for the bowling alley.

So when you really have to go...:scream:

I think the transporter room floor disks are really lids to pit toilets. Antimatter pit toilets.

How do transporters know to beam up the e coli in human intestines? That would be messy if it didn't so it must.

"antimatter pit toilets" - to be reconstituted in the foodslots lol

I'd love to see this finished... I've still got MotS on my machine, and I TREMENDOUSLY enjoyed Donny's TWOK walkable 1701 (which I only wish had been FINISHED...)

Wow, how did I miss this thread?? This is brilliant stuff, Donny; I hope you don't mind if I use it as a guide for my upgrade of the engineering set for ST:R - it really helps visualize the upper decks of Engineering. :bolian:

I hadn't seen any of this before. It's brilliant! Thanks for sharing your progress!

WOW! This is beautiful work. Are you planning on ever putting this into some kind of self-contained interactive walkthrough?
