Actually it's the White Sox tonight. Supernatural is scheduled to air tonight at 11:30 P.M., unless the baseball game runs over. My TiVo is ready and waiting.

This episode is clever as hell. The TWOP faithful will probably hate it because it strays from formula, but I think it's hysterical.

EDIT: Oh my God, that was awesome. It was stupid, but it was awesome. A nice way to mix things up before the uber heavy angst next week when John's voice calls Dean on the telephone to ask him why he did it. I loved the parody of Ghosthunters from Skiffy. Only Ed and Harry would be dingleberry enough to say, "Dude, I want you to know that you can do my sister" as they're awaiting death. The corpses with the party hats as "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to" was playing on the phonograph were choice. Ick!!

I wonder is New York also getting the game (same game, chicago plays new york), because if so that would really suck, the #1 and 3 markets. As it is we can expect a 300,000 to 400,000 thousand drop in viewers things to the Chicago market.

And yeah, this episode has got a lot of press (makes me wish the CW put out more advance screeners for the show. And I got pissed again by Matt Roush from TV Guide. This is three years in a row, he has liked Supernatural more then other shows being shown at 9pm and he still does not watch this show except for advance screeners and will watch the programs he likes less.

New York's got a separate channel, mswood. I'm pretty sure we'd have heard if it was being preempted in NY. It was a totally goofy ep, but it was fun if you don't take it at all seriously.

I'm glad they kept the nature of this episode quiet, from the ads it almost looked like some "torture porn" take-off, I wasn't expecting a parody. GHOST.GHOST FA-CERS.

You know that wasn't bad. I will be the first one to admit the lighter episodes aren't my favorite. But thats mainly due to the leads acting a little out of character. But in this Sam & Dean were always Sam & Dean

And while I didn't love Hell House, I did like those two characters (what would Buffy do). And their characters are over the top, so seeing them in this situation was fine, and it worked in providing a parody on reality shows in general (thanks god my reality show doesn't ever do those things), and scifi's Ghost Hunters in specific. Not to mention a nice shout out to the writers strike as well.

I do wonder on how (not even counting Chicago) the ratings might be effected by the off style nature of this episode.

What was also great was the fact that they acknowledge that the characters would be cussing all the time on cases. I like that.

I'm surprised. There seems to be a great deal of like and almost love for this eppy at TWOP. I thought they'd crucify it, but they seemed to really like it in spite of how different it was. I loved the deep acknowledgment while in the salt circle that yes, you can do my sister. Dorks.

In the duffle bag? The ratings will be what they are. We're renewed for season four already. That's all that matters. Poor Reaper drew a 2.25 million in finals because of their preemption in Philadelphia. I know this'll do better than that.

With Dean hearing John over the telephone next week, it's sure to be an emotional ep. It can't lose.

That was fan-freaking-tastic. I have a severe dislike for Ghost Hunters, and this parody was absolutely perfect. It was interesting because it felt like a light episode, but it still had a pretty somber note. I felt bad for poor Corbett. And I liked Hell House, so it was cool to see Ed and Harry again.

I actually didn't know there was a new episode tonight, so I had no idea what to expect. As usual with Ben Edlund's episodes, however, I was very pleased.

At first I didn't think I was going to enjoy this one--that it would be another silly show but it actually turned out pretty good. I thought it was entertaining. Good, not great, mind you but solid.

It reminded me of those horror films with a group of young adults who get in over their heads by getting themselves trapped in a haunted house and have to try to survive the night. I thought they did a god job with creating a spooky atmosphere with the lighting and unsteady camera shots. I jumped out of my skin when the spectre first appeared out of the blue. It also did a good job generating some concern for Sam's well-being when he was taken. I enjoyed the interplay among the team. I liked the original approach of saving the credits until the end and treating the episode as if it were an unsolicited pilot episode for a proposed reality show--even the theme grew on me and I found myself humming it to myself.

I'd give it a B.

Here's a clip from next week's "Long Distance Caller." That's definitely Jeffrey Dean Morgan's voice on the phone. This looks to be a heart breaker and a half.

I never watched this show until this episode and I thought it was pretty good. I was laughing the whole time. I might start watching it.

Cool! I hope you enjoy it. Season one and two are available at itunes and on DVD for a pretty reasonable price after all this time. Although many of the episodes are mega funny like last week's, the main storyline is much darker, to give you warning. It's quite the contrast. Dean's dying because he made a Faustian bargain, not for fame but to save his younger brother's life. I can fill you in on anything you might want to know if you don't want to go the DVD route.

I've just ordered the region 2 season 3 DVD boxset. It's set for release in August. ITV2 stopped showing it when they caught up with the US, and don't seem to plan on showing new episodes any time soon.

Somebody on another board I post at said that the show returns to ITV2 on May 25th. Don't know if that's true at all, but it's the only specific date I've heard so far.


Anyway, great episode, some real laugh-out-loud moments, and some decent dramatic ones too. I'd give it a solid 5/5 just cause I enjoyed the hell out of it. Loved the little dig at the writers strike too.

Okay, caught up with this one aswell now. And it was a lot of fun, but with some sombre tones.

Not to mention a nice shout out to the writers strike as well.

Very funny, and possibly the only show to have actually got a zing about that in there (or possibly Ugly Betty too?).

Well, yeah, kinda, except if they swear all the time, how come we've never seen it before? What about this adventure in particular makes them want to swear when they haven't before? It was a bit too fourth-wall-breaking for me.

We should all assume in advance that I'm going to be oversensitive to this. There was some good and some bad. Gay character included = great. Cute gay character = even better.

But how come the only gay character, one of an extremely small number of acknowledgements from this show that gays exist, is the first and only character to die in this episode? Yes, they made it a poignant loss rather than "evil gays must die," and in fact they made him the hero of the piece via the straight guy oh-so-nobly being able to accept the love of a gay man.

But still - only character killed, and then Sam and Dean wipe the others' heartfelt tribute to him just to protect their secret. This displeases me.
