Mudd’s Women

After detecting a cargo vessel in distress, the U.S.S. Enterprise makes a dangerous rescue of its passengers from within an asteroid belt, severely damaging its engines in the process. Once the four are brought to safety, Kirk discovers he has unwittingly brought a known criminal, Harry Mudd, and his cargo, three beautiful yet bewitching females, onboard his ship. But it soon becomes apparent that these women are not all that they appear to be and that Mudd may have involved the ship in another of his illegal shenanigans. And the captain and his crew must try and figure out Mudd’s latest scheme and find a way to repair their dead warp drive.

^Really?!? Ugh, I am getting Conscience of the King here in Central Florida.

^ Really? I just checked my local listings again and that is what we have. It's also what is on the official schedule from startrek.com. I wonder why they changed it? Too much miniskirt?

And just an FYI to everyone, I screwed up the poll again. You will only be able to vote once rather than multiple times. There has got to be a better way of doing this and I am seriously thinking about removing the second part from here on. Everyone can just list what they thought of the remastering in their posts or something. (If the system would let me edit the poll, things would be so much easier. Or I could stop doing two things at once and making silly mistakes.)

Okay. It has been officially changed on the schedule in my area and on the official site. They are dropping the airing of "The Cage" and Mudd's Women will air next weekend instead. This week's episode is now a repeat of "Conscience of the King".

Could someone be kind enough to kill this thread so I can have a fresh one to screw up next week? We can call it a "do-over" and I will try to get the poll right next time. :rommie:

"Conscience of the King" aired today in my area. Guess "Mudd" is next weekend. Drat.

Why the hell aren't we better informed when this happens?! I was all set last night to see some Venus Drugged women when all of a sudden Kodos the Executioner shows up holding a dagger and I thought to myself "Wait a minute...".:klingon:

Mudd and his women better be on next week or I'm gonna open a can of whoopass on someone, and for the moment I don't care who.

No "Mudd's" this weekend for me. Both Remastered episodes this weekend have been reruns("King" on Saturday, "Obsession" on Sunday). Guess we're going to be off one week on the schedule...at least many of us will be.

I'm not sure we're going to be a week off-set - reports elsewhere have confirmed that The Cage (scheduled for next week) has been removed, and replaced with Mudd's Women; and at the same time Mudd's Women this week was 'officially' replaced with The Conscience of the King.

I would assume in 2 weeks time we're going to have Assignment: Earth as scheduled, and the schedule will be back in sync.

Don't panic! This week and the next are the only changes that have been made to the remastered schedule. Beginning with "Assignment: Earth" (05/03/08), the original viewing schedule will resume and the remaining episodes of the season will be shown in the previously announced order. (This has been confirmed by TrekMovie.com.)

04.26.08 Mudd’s Women
05.03.08 Assignment: Earth
05.10.08 Court Martial
05.17.08 A Private Little War
05.24.08 Whom Gods Destroy
05.31.08 The Mark of Gideon
06.07.08 The Lights of Zetar
06.14.08 The Way to Eden
06.21.08 Requiem for Methusaleh
06.28.08 The Savage Curtain
07.05.08 The Omega Glory (R)
07.12.08 The Cloud Minders
07.19.08 Spectre of the Gun
07.26.08 The Empath
08.02.08 Turnabout Intruder

And it should be noted that a showing of "The Cage" could still happen, just later in the airing schedule.

Everyone cool now?

"The Empath" will probably have fewer changes than any episode since Redjac/"Wolf..." There are so few effects in that one it might as well not even have space and ship opticals.

I'd like to see them rotoscope in a background for the aliens lab vs. the black curtain/Batman TV show approach they used ... screams low budget. Looks like it came from an episode of Lost in Space.

Me too...but don't expect them to.

The Remastering team usually focuses on space and ship opticals and less on the sets and props. They've tweaked a few things at random times and even dropped a new background into the "Amok Time" picture of T'Pring when she was a young girl, but those alterations seem few and far between and "The Empath" has SO MUCH black soundstage in most of the shots that it'd be a Herculean effort to drop new CGI backgrounds behind the actors.
