Does Genevieve Bujold (the first Janeway) ever go to Trek conventions?

Re: Does Genevieve Bujold (the first Janeway) ever go to Trek conventi

You got something against perky nipples?

oh my this conversation has taken a turn :guffaw:
Let's get real.

It kills me when people find that talk immature but lets face it, if Daddy didn't like Mommy's perky nipples none of us would be born.
Well, I hope Daddy liked a bit more about Mummy than just her nipples. Well, I know I like more about women.

I do as well but attraction has to start somewhere.

There is nothing wrong with being attracted to a man or a womans phyical features. It's natural.

I did not want to imply otherwise.

Never mind, I see what started as a light hearted jest is starting to turn serious.

After watching those vids, I want to go back and see how Mulgrew did the same scene. Be interesting for a side-by-side comparison to see the difference an actor can make to the tone of a whole series.

While Bujold's approach was dry, it may have developed into something given the chance.

But I'll always love Ms Mulgrew from afar. If I kin build afar.

Which generally means it's a good time to drop it. Not everyone get's everyone else's humor. I've had to learn that lesson myself while on this board. ;)

I believe they did that on one of the Season 1 dvd extras. The did a comparison of the "Caretaker" scene where Janeway talks to Tuvok in the ready room. The difference was like night and day!

I realy dislike Archer. That maybe because I don't consider Enterprise "real" Star Trek, or that maybe because the actor who played him acts like he wants to forget and deny that he was ever in a show related to Star Trek.

Interesting, do you have a link to the article where Scott Bakula says he wants people to forget his role as Archer, and denies he had anything to do with Star Trek?

Because he appeared at a convention last year and talked about how great Star Trek is and how he misses being on the show.

I think I remember seeing that vid.

So I take it from this board that GB hasn't ever done any conventions. I didn't think so, but it didn't hurt to ask.

you should re-read what I wrote.

of course he's not going to flat out say it. But from what his costars, people who have met him, and convention organizers have said, he is an asshole who hates Star Trek and regrets ever doing it.

Re: Does Genevieve Bujold (the first Janeway) ever go to Trek conventi

Sorry, ain't buying that.

Re: Does Genevieve Bujold (the first Janeway) ever go to Trek conventi

I don't buy it either.

I met him once. It wasn't in a Star Trek "environment," and it never really came up, but the guy was completely down to Earth.

On the other hand, I met Stewart in a simulation, and I quickly had found the urge to punch the guy in the face.

Re: Does Genevieve Bujold (the first Janeway) ever go to Trek conventi

Yeah. I think Stewart thinks of TREK as something he is thankful for fame-wise but now is sort of like dog poop on his shoe that he can't really scrape off.

You know, some days I like my job, some days I can't stand it. Some days I'm positive, some days bitchy, some days I just plain lie about my feelings because, hey, it's really nobody's business but my own. But I'd hate to think that someone would take something I said on some random day and paint my whole career with that brush.
Wouldn't you get irritated at playing the role of a hero and always have to live up to it, or be diplomatic about it, and not be able to say, just once, "Man frak this screwy job!" publicly or risk alienating basically your entire fan base forever? I know I would.

So..I have chosen not to be famous. Yeah, that's why. :)

not true, he was at a convention that I went to last month and he was the nicest guy. And recently there was an article where in an interview the interviewer called trekkies weird and he came to their defence.

But as I said, Star Trek didn't even come into the conversation.

The guy was just an asshole. Plain and simple.
