Away Team?

Destructor

Commodore
Commodore
I'm kind of going on a Trek gaming binge at the moment (just wrapped up EF2, really enjoying Bridge Commander, with SC3 awaiting me in the wings. I have the demo of Legacy on my Xbox, but am still mulling over whether or not to get the real thing), and was considering keeping an eye out on eBay for 'Away Team'. Has anyone played this? Is it worth looking into?

I have the game and have played it through twice. It's enjoyable, IMO. Are you familiar with the genre? Real-time strategy/tactics---lots of moving about, trying to avoid security camera sweeps, sniper shots, etc. This game basically takes that mold and sets it in the Trek - TNG universe.

My favorite item to use was the Sonic Decoy. Yes, the game is not necessarily the best, but it was in general an interesting Star Trek game with an cohesive storyline, nice environments, etc. I liked the variety of the locales visited. Some of the levels were frustrating, but the save function was quite useful. Did not experience any major bugs.

Its a so so game, point and click to move your team around the map....that's about it, as for legacy if you can get it in the bargain bin then go ahead....but be prepared, its such a mess of a game, it will actually freeze your 360 occasionally, and is one of the worst games for making the 360 DVD drive spin continuously at top speed, and that in turn makes the 360 sound like a hoover.

What I don't get about XBox Live is....why don't they make ALL their games available for download, a la Steam? I don't often go into a store to make a purchase, but I'd probably buy a game every other week if all I had to do was click 'Buy' and wait for the download. It seems retarded. And you'd avoid that stupid disc spinning problem, too.

I agree with you, i would love to buy all the old Trek games on some system like steam or XBLA, i cant think of any old Trek game that could not be played on the 360 through XBLA with a joypad........they could even ramp up the graphics to HD as well i they wanted.

I cannot get Away Team to run on my computer at all. It locks up at the opening starfield. :(

Did you set it to run in windows compatibility 98 mode.
