TBBS Fanfic Recommendations

Looks like a thread about the value of fanfic would prove a good discussion. I'm going to start one for you to continue this debate - can we get the recommendations thread back on track please?

Thanks for the response, and yes, fun is a good thing. I hope we can discuss the pros and cons of this soon.

To get back on thread: Once again I suggest Epiphany Trek, Vesta and the good people at Different Worlds. All of them can be found at ST Expanded Universe wiki. Vesta can be accessed through Star Eagle link. GOOOOOOOD STUFF!

People have said that it's very difficult, with so many stories having been posted in the Fanfic Forum, to know which ones are worth the time to read. This thread will hopefully provide a way for readers to recommend good stories that they have read here.

I'd like to start with three favourites of my own:

"Star Trek: Lazarus" by FocusAbbey
A very innovative story set in the far future, as the ideals of the Federation rise from its ashes. It's accompanied by art that is every bit as fine as the writing.

"Orders of Magnitude" by John Z. Drake
The first few chapters of a TNG novel that was submitted to Pocket Books (and rejected for reasons unconnected to its quality). This is a real professional effort, and it shows.

"Once more with starships" by CmdrAJD
The Buffy musical meets TWOK. Amazingly good, and very amusing!

Please, please, add your own recommendations, and help people find the treasures hidden in this forum! :)

I'm getting a popup window that states We cannot proceed.

"We could not find the post or forum that you were trying to access."

Where do I go to read these fanfics?

And if you missed the other post in its thread-Guardian of forever web site(it has a thread on this page) has Blacknblue's Virtual Fifth Season of Enterprise-a great read!

What fuss? It was my mildly stated opinion of fanfic.

I think I said this elsewhere, so excuse me if I am redundant. But my fanfic sagas, Exodus-The Weer Family and Family; Weer Star Trek, are ways I release stress. Yes, they are mindless soap operas to some degree, but as I write them, and have no idea where they are going, its like watching a TV show in my mind. And now, nearly 400 pages later, the Weers are like family to me. Yeah..I know..I'm a nut...but it is a great stress reliever. You ought to try creating your own TREK fiction.

Robert

Those links are pointing to the old TrekBBS - most of the threads didn't come with the move.

Does anyone know if those stories are hosted anywhere else? fanfiction.net maybe?

Actually, I couldn't hit those sites when it was the old format.

on fanfiction.net under the Star Trek TOS category. The author is T'be and the story is Just In Time. What a great job the author did-one of the most interesting time-travel Trek stories I've ever read.

I'm a bit late responding this this (only about two months), but here's the link to Once More With Starships
