The James Bond Film Discussion Thread (With Bonus Lazenby!)

Seems like Jack Barton is being touted as the favourite right now. I liked him in SAS Rogue Heroes, though he seems a little slight (but they can work on that). He's 31 which is better than I was expecting (I was fearing some 25 year old) and by the time he shoots (if it's him) he'll be on a parr with Connery and older than Lazenby--though obviously he'll look younger than both because people looked way older younger in the past

Of course this assumes he is the guy, but actually of all the names mentioned I think Elordi is the youngest at 29?

In terms of becoming a commander in the RN I think it is possible you could be one after 12-14 years service, if Bond joined the Navy immediately after university then he could be a Commander by his mid 30s which kind works (I suspect when Fleming wrote his novels promotion came a lot quicker, and especially during WW2 I be you could easily be a Commander before you were 30).

Of course you have to factor him him then being assigned to MI6, so I suspect the idea will still be for him to be a relatively young 00, though I'd be surprised if they go down the Craig route of it being his first mission (not that CR technically was his first mission anyway!)

The first character in this video is very OHMSS in flavor.

So has anyone finished 007 First Light?

What were your impressions and ratings of this as a Bond game?

I'm also interested in any criticisms you might have of the game

Brilliant game, A*. Only real criticism is that, unlike The Great Circle, which I played straight after, there isnt much replay factor.

What do you mean? Isn't the story engaging or fun?

Is there any post game free roaming?

It is engaging and fun, but for the most part its relatively linear. There aren't any built in side quests that dont need to be completed in order to complete the game, a la Great Circle, or an ongoing quest that requires you to collect certain items to unlock a post-credits scene.

You do unlock the MI6 Holodeck once youcomplete the game, and that then allows you to play through scenarios with specific requirements. We are getting a new driving level for the Valhalla at some point, and an additional mission - at some point - though.

Its a good game, i dont regret buying a PS5 in order to play it. But imho, Great Circle was better.

Thank you..

I have the game but wanted to see what others think about it before giving it a try.

Not sure how he’d know but Gary Oldman seems to think that the new 007 has been cast. He doesn’t know who it is but hopes it’s Jack Lowden:

Obviously the second person to mention Lowden recently. You're right of course, how would he know? Obviously he has contacts etc. I can't imagine if it were Jack and Jack had told him in confidence that he'd be super thrilled at Oldman letting the cat out of the bag!

I imagine he might know that Lowden has been auditioned, and he might know that someone has been chosen, but he might be adding 2+2 and getting 5.

Of course this might all just be some Slow Horses publicity ;) (not that you'd think the show needed much publicity these days)
