The Mandalorian and Grogu (2026)

Don't forget "Oligarchs are not your allies against fascism even if they claim to be, and will betray anyone and everyone in order to enrich themselves, at least until they're devoured by their own giant pet snake."

"Remember kids, it's important to obey fascists. And also you should hunt them down individually even after you've won the war against them...

Fascism 101: Your nation is always in the right, no matter what it does. If "fascism" is bad, then it's impossible for your nation to be fascist, especially if you've fought other fascists at any prior point.

This is literally Putin's whole creed for Russia today. Yes, Soviet Russia fought Nazi fascists in WW2. Yes, Putin's Russia is now fascist.

And, if you don't understand that, your Fascism Obedience Training Module seems to be right on target.

You forgot: The more she denies being a witch, the more evidence she's a witch.

So... your premise is that the New Republic are the real fascists? And the point of the film is that fascists -- except for the ones you're shooting and blowing up -- must always be obeyed? Then why does the film's protagonist blatantly disobey the New Republic?

Primary antagonists in the Mandalorian: Empire and Crime Lords.

Updated allies: New Republic as a contractor, slightly under the table as it seems to be just the one starfighter base. But they pay in Republic credits and useful materials. Like it was an RPG (which is understandable. Rebels was essentially a cartoon set around an old West End Games style Star Wars Roleplaying Game group of six characters. Mando is the solo player version)

and deep fake hoops that they did.

I don't believe TROS used deep fakes for Leia, AFAIK all the shots of her were created from shots from TFA and TLJ and the dialogue came from unused lines.

Now I believe they did replace her clothes in some of the shots. Not sure if that was a body double or CG or something.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Saw this today with my son. Mostly empty theater, but that's not surprising for a 10am show. Ahh, the pluses of still being unemployed. :sigh:

Lots to enjoy, and some fun easter eggs that I hadn't heard about yet. I too had to wonder about how the Razor Crest got back to base, but that can be easily explained away. The only thing I found a little off was Rotta's lack of any kind of Hutt growliness in his voice.

I really like how Grogu came into his own a bit, while taking care of Mando.

Wasn't at least part of the "never be afraid of who you are" scene fake?

This is literally every nation, especially in war time. Ukraine is telling it's citizens the same thing as the Russians are - we are in the right and those other people are in the wrong.

Basically, yeah. They went to extreme lengths to "keep Carrie", to the point where her face was sometimes the only real thing in the shot. The footage was (I believe) mostly from deleted material, alternate takes, and with some stuff from the released films sprinkled in where needed.

Annoyingly, a lot of it got mirrored for the shots in TROS, so she looks more 'off' than she really should.

Edit: A little bit on it here:

I'm sure there's a better, more in-depth one, but that's the first one I found. :)

Given that Russia invaded Ukraine and the Ukrainians are defending their own homes, I think it's pretty damn obvious that it's not remotely a morally symmetrical situation. Both-sidesism only benefits the victimizers.
