At 62 in the first Expendables, Stallone still looked fairly badass. At 58 today, Lucy Lawless... well, I'd buy her as a mercenary group's expert accountant or brilliant legal counsel.

I'd buy her a drink, and hopefully breakfast!

While I acknowledge there's nothing original under the sun, I feel as if Karen Gillan's "Gunpowder Milkshake" more or less already did this relatively recently and with more or less the kind of cast one can hope for in a movie like this:

This is where you go the opposite direction and cast Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Frances McDormand, Olivia Colman, Toni Collette, Allison Janney, Glenn Close and Alfre Woodard in an action movie. Cate Blanchett might not want anything to do with it after Borderlands.
