DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

What was that about being "ashamed" of green or whatever that complaint was about?

Also...I don't think we knew until just now that Laura Linney was going to be in this! Fuck yeah!

I have a feeling i will like Hal Joardan very much in this one, i like his veteran attitude, his ( perhaps rightfully earned) cockiness and his own style ( had to laugh when he created a dollar bill with one of the mightiest weapons of the universe  )

I also loved how the trailer concentrates on overcoming fear, they don't mention will as a way to do it but i guess it'll come up in the show. Maybe we'll even get a glimpse of Sinestro and/or Parallax ( i think the statute of limitations on Reynold's Lantern movie has expired ;) ) at the end, maybe setting them up as future villains.

Didn't expect Guy Gardner to make a visit but it fits of course, maybe we'll even get a shot of all 3 Earth Lanterns going at it which brings me to the main point - who or what will be the villain of the season and what is the plot?

I'm no expert but doesn't the ring itself choose its next wearer once the current Lantern dies or retires somehow? I'm no DC or Lantern expert but i didn't think the process was that candidates were trained or evaluated before, the ring makes the decision and offers the chance to become a Lantern but correct me if i'm wrong.

Really looking forward to see the show, i like the vibe the trailers put out.

In most cases yes, the ring chooses its next wearer. The Guardians can override that though. Regardless, all Lanterns go through a training process. At this point we haven't yet seen how John was chosen in this iteration.

Wow, that's the exact opposite of my reaction. It seems like they're writing Hal Jordan as if he were Guy Gardner, which seems redundant when they already have Guy Gardner.

They said the show features two different time frames, and the posters say there can only be one ringbearer, so I think maybe Hal will be in the past segments and Guy in the present.

That's basically how it works in the comics, but of course, screen adaptations are free to reinvent the concepts and characters in whatever way suits their stories.

It's not that kind of show!

How would you know what kind of show this is going to be?

The first trailer was pretty subdued when it came to the ring and associated superpowers/special effects, this one showed far more. So i don't know yet what kind of show this is going to be, it seems to be some kind of road trip/breaking in the new guy who doesn't have a good opinion about the veteran ( strange as Hal has been using a ring for ages now whereas John hasn't so why the attitude?).

Few things:

1) My guess is that Laura L is Appa Ali Apsa.
2) We know this show is in two time periods - I think we have mainly see the earlier period
3) The Uniform still looks terrible
4) I guess that is OA?
5) Sinestro !

That was a much better trailer than the previous one. Before I was feeling kind of iffy about the show, but after this one, I'm all in.

I could be mistaken but I believe he was attempting a joke about how this is not the kind of show that would include a three way sex scene among the Lanterns.

Oh damn, for once my dirty mind didn't intend to make it dirty and i missed it. I might be getting soft at my advanced age

While people nearby are having a conversation about the political maneuverings going on behind their backs.

Oh wow, a green orb shield shows up for 2 seconds and Hal flys without the slightest glow, that definitely proves that they aren't embarassed by being a superhero show

Seriously that was dour shit, it looks like Zack Snyder and Taylor Sheridan teamed up to make a show that they stuck the Green Lantern name on to get WB to pay for it.

Oh, but Hal says "fuck" so all the edgelords are going to act like this is the second coming of superhero media. I can already tell that the small amount of people that can tolerate this crap are going to just be Snyder fans and people that think that Andor is the best Star Wars project..
