Official sources are silent on the matter. And really, even if such news is true, I wouldn't expect it to be officially announced until Comic Con in the summer.
Not sure how reliable this can be considered, but I'm seeing rumors swirling around suggesting a June premiere date. At the very least it's consistent with the fact the Sunday 9:00 EST slot is currently held by The Audacity, which I think has its finale scheduled for the end of May.

Verified or not, S3 should be its last, with the Dama/Hershel vs Maggie/Negan arc already feeling like its coming to a head. No matter how that arc concludes, the Maggie character appears--at the moment--to not have much narrative road left, other than to be killed off (one wonders if the upcoming ghost of Beth has something to do with Maggie dying and needing someone to "guide" her out of physical life), or she returns to Alexandria to be part of the big Rick reveal/reunion.

Not sure if i ever commented...but this whole series, to be honest, just feels like AMC trying to milk Walking Dead out of what they can, but also taking advantage of Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan , whose careers seemed to have stalled, despite showing their acting skills.
Season 2 ended where it seemed like Negan simply enjoying is old cruelty ractics....where i thought it would have been innovative/creative if he was using the old Negan tactics as a way sneak in and manipulate in order to destroy the evil empire from within.
I just don't see how this could go any more than season 3, anyway. Really, it should have just been 1 season, if at all.

I do not see this going in any good direction. I can imagine other production companies injecting the concept with "off-brand" ideas the main series did not cover, or attempt to steer the concept toward the Resident Evil side of zombie survival horror.
While I see your point, I believe Dead City's key storyline--Maggie's inability to ever be settled with Negan--sort of needed a coda the parent series' finale (the Maggie/Negan conversation) may not have provided.
