I don't even know where to start on this one. "An AI narrated video" is already enough to let me know this is complete horseshit. Any secret plans Paramount-Skydance might or might not have are not going to be reported by mere YouTubers. But regardless, when all is said and done, no one is going to care enough to remove the Kurtzman era from Canon.

Twenty years ago when Enterprise was cancelled, people were saying similar things about it and Berman era. Yet, these days these are looked upon favorably as Trek's golden age, The same will be true of the Kurtzman era twenty years from now.

Like I said around here somewhere before, Paramount makes money selling DVDs and blu rays of past Star Trek series and movies. They will want to make money on the recent series. Telling the audience that it’s just some garbage that doesn’t count any more is not going to help them sell more box sets.

It's the same way with Disney. A few years ago some rando boldly claimed ( not here ) that they were gonna overwrite the continuity of one of their own Star Wars shows. You can't find the post nowadays because of course dude deleted it.

Honestly, I'd love if they said they were not going to air them and see the reaction. People would demand Trek be shown despite it being "garbage". It's ridiculous.

He said he pitched it an while ago. He hasn’t done it again
He pitched to Kurtzman a while back and late last year he mentioned he was going to pitch it to Paramount's new owners, which he did on February 13th. A photo is seen of that Paramount meeting on his Insta and X account.

All that means is that he was on the Paramount lot for some reason. It doesn't mean he pitched anything or that it's even related to Star Trek.

LOL please, he said he was going to pitch it late last year and a few months later he did. I don't understand the big deal. 99,9% of pitches go absolutely nowhere. But to say he didn't pitch that show again, after he stated he would and he was at Paramount just a couple of months later... 1 + 1 = still 2 to me, but you can all believe what you want. I remember people on here denying Starfleet Academy was in pre-production when evidence was shown to them. It's always the same...

Usually a photo of a meeting shows more than one person, but maybe this is a video I can’t see properly.

Sussman’s last professional credit on IMDB is from 2017, for what it’s worth.
Oh, believe me, I don't think his show is going to get anywhere. I'm just saying I do believe he pitched it again, earlier this year. And other Star Trek shows by other people have apparently been pitched at that time as well. Personally I think Star Trek will be having a rest for a little while on streaming...

I believe United is more than a pitch, but an actual thing in development. Sussman was rejected because Starfleet Academy was an Earth-based show and they didn't want that two shows with a same setting competition. He wasn't rejected because it was an Enterprise sequel. Maybe he was explicitly told to refine the idea and come back in at a later date.., and that's why they had to move the heart of a newly formed Federation to Babel and Archer being ferried back & forth there, in a proposed Starfleet One Presidential ship. I mean.. all these details must be part of the changes asked for in a consultation, based on what some brainstorming meeting within either Secret Hideout or Paramount.

Thinking back a bit to the expansion plans Alex Kurtzman toyed with, when Section 31 and Academy were thought to be good directions, whatever happened to Jonathan Archer was one of the things thrown out there and consideration whether it had series legs or was possibly the next streaming movie idea.

As part of that, I would tend to believe releasing details about it in the public domain, getting Scott to talk about it at a Creation con and some breakfast show, is all purposeful. I would surprised if more doesn't come out in August, when I gather there's the 25th Anniversary cast reunion... bar Jolene, but you never know. More as in, a second and final rejection... or an official announcement United is greenlit, with presumably the cast onstage all up for return alongside new characters.

Now that definitely doesn't mean it's going to happen. It's nice idea and nice that fans were let in on the ground floor with detail to either embrace or eviscerate. The surprising thing about that is - even before Starfleet Academy garnered the response it had - the United details weren't met with the kind of negativity I was bracing for.

No, it's a development with some level of official sanction. Must be. Which, to manage expectations somewhat, is comparable to multiple projects since 2016 - particularly film projects - which obviously didn't go any further. I'd be surprised if there wasn't similarly a 1st and 2nd draft of two-hour pilot script for a United show etc...I mean you don't get a talented actor sounding like he was onboard, based on a Powerpoint presentation of artwork, without that type of thing to read and slice & dice, offering his own input on when and how his character changed.
