Spoilers Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

So the cliche of an actor

"Working from pay check to pay check"

Tennant might not have a BBC miniseries lined up or convention to go to so BF can be the inbetween job.

Even if he did, Big Finish do chunk of remote recording now so could just about do it from a hotel room

*Sigh*

Not going to link to them (you can find them quite easily) but Davies is hyping up Doctor Who related AI slop videos.

And yet I suspect he wouldn't be too happy if his own work was being stolen to create these videos.

Yeah, that's pretty disappointing.
If Matt Smith's agent can line up more lucrative work for Matt Smith, that means he's lining up more lucrative work for himself as well as he gets percentage. If the Big Finish work is peanuts in comparison, it's not going to be a priority to the agent.
Oh, I understand the thinking behind it, I would just don't see what it would hurt if Smith is willing to do it, and Big Finihs is willing and able to work with him. It sounds like his agent isn't even giving him the option to do it, and that just seems kinda crappy to me.

While promoting his new show Davies has confirmed he's already working on the next one after that.

Not that there is anything beyond Christmas at this point anyway, but he doesn't seem to be wanting around on the off chance.

He reminds me of someone, but I can't quite place who. I'll remember someday, but fingering only one social media site? It's not like other people don't say the same of other social media sites so there's clearly no social media utopia: Social media is social media, only one is green and another is purple and even then the colors are more a gradient melded with contrasting dots rather than all the same boring blop. If it's so full of hate he needn't stay there, or something? There's plenty of positive and affirming posts and videos there too...

Yes, negative comments and hate are a general thing across social media. But ever since Elon Musk bought Twitter, it has turned into a complete cesspool. There are people making negative comments on YouTube and other platforms too. Elon Musk is trying to push right-wing-looking bot accounts and also accounts that post far-right, hateful content more to the forefront. So right now, Twitter is a worse place.
And here you are posting a link from that site instead posting the article link.
Because I am addicted to social media, I spend 16–17 hours a day on social media, especially on Twitter. Naturally, for me it doesn’t make much difference whether I share the article itself or post a Twitter link. The current environment on Twitter affects me emotionally. So if BlueSky were widespread in my country, I would switch to it, but it’s not. Unfortunately, the most widely used platform in my country is Twitter.

Yeah, it does seem a bit excessive to single out Twitter when all of social media is like that. I have a feeling his singling out Twitter has more to do with politics, which is completely understandable, than it really being that much worse than any of the other social media platforms.
But I can't help but point out that social media isn't all bad, there is a lot great, fun, positive stuff on there.

This is pretty shocking, but it's not as much after watching the last couple of seasons.

I grew up watching it, and I never thought this. Of course, remember when folks said Doctor Who had a gay agenda?

But he clearly has a point. The Doctor as an outsider estranged from his own people and customs, often flamboyantly dressed, unmarried :p, hangs around with beautiful women but often doesn't seem to notice them...

Even setting aside facts such as the first director of the show being a gay man, or the obvious gay themes in episodes like Curse of Fenric, or the fact that it's always had a large gay following.

The show can clearly be seen through a queer lens.

Note, that doesn't mean it's the only lens Who can be seen through, one of the show's amazing strengths, and reasons for its longevity, is down to the fact that it can tell different kinds of stories, this is a show that can appeal to a wide range of people
