Woody Allen fans: I need emergency help!

Star Treks

I'm writing my midterm for Shakespeare which is due tomorrow (thursday) morning. I'm discussing a theory about Hamlet and his inability to filter information, and I want to use a quote from a Woody Allen movie.

The problem? I don't remember the PRECISE quote, and I'm not sure what movie it's in.

Basically, it's where he says that he thinks his problem is that he is unable to filter out his awareness of all of life's horrors. I believe the quote may be from Stardust Memories but I am not 100% positive. Some quick googling and a check of IMDB has been inconclusive.

Please, if you know this quote, or where I can find it, let me know. It will be perfect for my paper.

SPOCKED: Love and Death is my all-time favorite Woody Allen movie, and it's one of my 5 or so favorite films. I can't believe how often people forget to mention it when listing his great movies.

BTW, folks: I already had to turn in my paper. It was fine but it would have been better with a Woody Allen quote. Oooooh well.

Sorry about the quote, I was a blank. If you ever nail it down let us know.

Love and Death is not only one of my favorite Woody Allen movies, it is one of my favorite movies by anybody.

:guffaw:

Star Treks, it's too bad we couldn't nail it down - every theory needs a good Woody Allen quote to tie up all the loose ends :D

I think the reason this quote is hard to find is that it's not one of his hilarious sayings; in the context of the film it's a very serious line or two, not a quotable gem. I just thought it was appropriate to my topic, but I'm sure the paper is fine without it.

I know my teacher likes Woody Allen, and he also has a sense of humor (in his notes for my paper on Twelfth Night he included a quote from Shrek ).
