Round-Up...

Despite FOX winning the night, kudos to NBC for a solid 2nd place with both it shows coming out winners and of course both have already been renewed by NBC.

ABC need to cancel "According To Jim" but for some reason they have given the show an 8th season. I have said it before and I will say it again, Boston Legal will be coming back for a 5th season unless ABC have gone truly loopy. Low demos for the show means nothing as ABC are very happy with the high income viewers that it brings in plus it was scoring 10 milion+ pre strike and is slowly getting back to its old ways.

Nice to see the demo return for NCIS but CBS have been pretty much ruined by Big Brother this season and I can't help but laugh because a monkey could of done better. The 10pm slot is still trouble and will always be because new shows cannot compete against established 10pm shows like L&O and BL.

CW - who cares seriously.

The reason I've heard is for syndication and DVD's. The more episodes, the more Touchstone (a production company) makes. Touchstone is owned by Disney, which also owns ABC.

Now...where's Notes from the Underbelly, ABC?????

I have to mention...

Alan Shores closing for his case about Shirley's dad who has Alzheimer's was one of the best TV moments this season and almost brought a tear to my eye.

I think that scene alone was worthy of an Emmy and shown why BL is one of the best TV Drama's.

....And yet ABC still hates the show and still treats it like shit.

I believe that ABC wants BL dead as soon as possible, and replace it with the horrid Eli (I must be) Stone (if I'm watching this garbage)*

*They had to shorten the title for obvious reasons. :)

^ Eli Stone is in far more danger than Boston Legal. Why do you think ABC treated Boston Legal badly ?

IMO, ABC did the right job moving BL, after season 1 because, it would struggle on the current sunday night lineup. Even with the strike ABC has manage to produce an 18 episode season (one of the biggest this season for any TV show)

ABC has even had good words to say about Boston Legal by declaring

it continues to be one of our most influential shows because of the audience it draws.

Despite a shoter 1st and 4th season, BL is set to hit 87 episodes after 4 seasons just 1 short of what a typical US show would get after, 4 normal 22 episodes seasons.

BL will be back. ABC may not really like the show but pulling in those numbers, they can't NOT renew it.

Eli Stone, bye.

ABC doesn't show any ads for BL ever, not one since season one. They don't do ads when it wins all of it's awards, they don't do any when they move the timeslop or it comes back from break. They give it shit lead ins, and no one knows it's on. They never mention it in anything, even with all the great actors. They don't have it on line to view like they do EVERY of ABC show.

I can't remember what the lead in is for the first half of the season but in 2nd half, BL had DWTS for majorty, so thats a great lead in. I don't think any greater promotion will bring viewers in at this stage, BL gets 9-11 million over the course of a season and if it does this with ABC doing less promo in a way that works out well because it makes the show even more profitable and greater reasons for renewal.
