So kind of like getting 'Drunk on Alcohol', but the Quickenings are a literal interpretation of the phrase 'Drunk on Power'?It's easy. Quickenings affect the receivers when the writers want them to but not the rest of the time.![]()

It's definitely not "Biological / Physiological" Strength.
We see that in the show & movies, the various immortals stay with the same physical strength they previously had.
Some HighLander fans aren't paying attention to all the details of the lore, so they might misinterpreet things. Was that ever in doubt? Watching the first Highlander movie about 30 years ago, that is literally what the concept of a Quickening was. If anyone ever thought it was physical, they didn't understand the core of the concept.
The Quickening wasn't even definitively pinned down yet as what it became in later installments. Was that ever in doubt? To be fair, the "lore" gets altered several times (or more correctly, it's kind of in an ongoing state of being changedSome HighLander fans aren't paying attention to all the details of the lore, so they might misinterpreet things.

So, in other words, beheading is like taking turmeric.
My post wasn't really about what you get from a dead Immortal, only what the franchise considers a Quickening to be. What was that happening when Ramirez and Connor first met? The franchise (if I'm not mistaken) never has a Quickening situation like that again.I disagree. As in.... I read your entire post, don't worry. Yes, it felt unclear to the Immortals at the time what a Quickening was, because it builds up over time. They don't instantly feel smarter after one beheading, it builds up.
I would disagree that it's only knowledge. When Connor wins he says that he can concentrate and read the thoughts of the entire world, and can now have children and grow old. So there are also metaphysical and bodily aspects. But the movie itself makes it very clear that the Prize (aka ALL the Quickenings) is the combined knowledge of ALL Immortals ever. Not physical strength, but knowledge and insights. Wisdom.

If the last decade or so have proven, neither Cavill nor Bautista is a draw by themselves. They might be hoping that Stahelski, Cavill, and Bautista's involvement will be enough to draw in bigger crowds.
I'm looking forward to this movie, but does anyone think Highlander is not the kind of IP to spend this much money on? I can't see it being profitable even if it's good.
I think it's going to be fairly close to the original since they seem to be using a lot of the same characters, but it's going more open ended since they've already said they're approaching this as starting a new version of the franchise. Why not? It's got cool swordfights, some mystical elements, cool characters - people have been watching movies for less and enjoyed them.
Cavill and Bautista's names rae big enough to draw a crowd and what John Wick did for awesome gunfight action scenes Highlander might do the same for swordfighting, especially giving the team that's producing it.
Now if they can write a good story that brings it all together ( i don't know if they'll just adapt the original movie or go all new) we could have a decent franchise on our hands, especially if they avoid the original "trap" of actually closing the story and then having to come up with harebrained ideas to have sequels that make no sense.
