Spoilers Niners might wanna watch SFA E5

I haven't watched For All Mankind yet, but Pluribus was great. It's received a lot of criticism for its slow pace, but those critics are likely not accustomed to or interested in pacing, character-building, and narrative development. It goes without saying that it's far superior to anything with the Trek name on it since 2009 (and better than most of Voyager and Enterprise).

I think a lot of people’s brains have been ruined by years of science fiction television as some combination of mystery boxes and shoot-em-ups. It’s pretty notable that I saw Andor—a series not lacking in action—get similar flack from (rando) viewers because it didn’t really conform to the way “genre” streaming shows are typically plotted and paced.

I've been sci-fi fan for a long time, and I nearly quit Andor three episodes in because it was downright glacial. Fortunately a friend talked me into sticking with it and it got better.

It seems to me that these series just toss in references to appeal to the few "old fans" who still watch but don't care about the context or substance. "Let's do a follow up to DS9" was just nostalgia bait and poorly done at that.

I'm not thrilled with the idea that Sisko never returned. And I don't like that Anslem was never published.
Actually, I think the fact that Jake seemed to be in a good place by 2408, compared to where he was in "The Visitor", is supposed to imply Sisko did come back. It's just not something that was broadcasted to the galaxy.

I think the real issue is what happened to Sisko's and Kasidy's child. The absence of Kasidy's child in the family tree just adds to the ambiguity of Sisko's return. It's odd that SFA overlooked this, as the documentary even gave the child a name - Joesph Yates-Sisko.

I would disagree with your first part there. All it shows is that he has moved on and accepted all thats happened and moved on. Jake loved his dad a lot, if he did come back he would not hide it.

Was the promise relevant to anyone by Kasidy?

Did Jake know if Benjamin returned by the time he wrote Anslem?
