You know what makes the New Amsterdam numbers seem worse is that it had a returning BONES as a lead in. So not only did it not build off its 7.5M from last week it dropped with a good lead in this time. I tend to think that its audience was just not home and not that the audience was elsewhere on the dial. I know I've missed things that way.

Winners...
Two & Half Men, DWTS, Rules of Engagement and CSI Miami (R)

Honorable Mention...
Samantha Who?, Deal or No Deal, Medium and Bones

Decent...
How I Met Your Mother and One Tree Hill

Losers...
The Big Bang Theory and New Amsterdam

Round-Up...

DWTS continues to give ABC the edge in total viewers and while, Samantha Who? may not retain as much as one might like, the two still work well in the demo. However "The Bachelor" needs to be cancelled or rested for a long period after this season.

CBS started slow and sadly it was the losers list for The Big Bang Theory, which did not impress but will still be back next fall. How I Met Your Mother did a little better but to be honest, while I do think the show will return for a 4th season, it will struggle to get a 5th and will wrap up next season unless it sorts out the yo yo ratings. Two and a Half Men was its normal self and a fantastic return for "Rules of Engagement" which will come back next season though that could be at the expense of HIMYM, which is on the bubble for a 4th season renewal.

NBC enjoyed a solid night but its clear that NBC has missed Chuck & Heroes since the strike took both off the air.

Bones returned with solid numbers even though the demo was down a small amount, however that was expected after a long hiatus and a change in timeslot. Bones will return next season with hopefully an extended 4th season to make up for the lost numbers this year but I hope FOX will keep the fall partnership of Bones/House before splitting them up to partner Idol in the new year. New Amsterdam had a chance of renewal but after it failed to work with a strong Bones, expect the show to be cancelled.

One Tree Hill needs a much better timeslot and CW needs to put there good eggs in one basket next fall and should partner the teen drama with Next Top Model to give CW at least 2 nights of decent viewing (the other being thursday night...would be 3 but they are losing Smackdown).

Tend do agree with the above, but those numbers did it no favours either way. A shame, I enjoyed it, but it's not coming back.

That's not true, Fox has always hated the show and would have canceled it no matter what.

The whole "FOX HATES NA" is just opinion but I can see why people think that. NA should of aired earlier in the year so FOX messed up but those numbers were possibly the final nail in the coffin.

TBH I think FOX had a few holes in there lineups (like a crap friday night) that NA could fill and if I was FOX I would still consider the show for a pickup, but don't see it happening.

I really think CBS Friday night line up would be a good fit for New Amsterdam. Ghost Whisperer does well with women and Moonlight fared decent, if still a bubble show itself. Having Mick and John as immortals could lead to some possible interesting crossover type "sweeps event" shows.

I must of been asleep when FOX announced it but when did "Dr. Sweets" get added to the Bones Main Cast ?

an interesting move.

^ I believe he was added at the start of season 3. Maybe a few episodes into it, but he's definitely been a member of the main cast for a while now.
