Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again discussion thread

I'm pretty sure I liked him on Hawkeye, so I'm good with getting more of him in Born Again Season 2.
Me too - though the first time I read the headline was more a case of "I don't remember him appearing before" - mental block and thinking of Timothy first :D

Cross posting this from the MCU thread: Entertainment Weekly has a new article about the upcoming season including some new photos.

Of note are how Jessica Jones' role is comparable to Frank's in season one (disappointing but unsurprising), we'll get a lot more of Karen, Lili Taylor plays New York Governor Marge McCaffrey, the Punisher special takes places during the same time as season two...and Elden Nelson is definitely returning as Foggy but they won't say any more about in what capacity.

A few comments I've seen about Foggy's return has me thinking he might be showing up in a dream sequence, or possibly Matt imaging talking to him or something like that. I know a lot of us would probably wish they'd bring him back to life, but they seem to be trying to keep the show fairly grounded, even though it now solidly takes place in a universe where the Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange exist, so a full on resurrection seems pretty unlikely.

There's an ongoing theory (fueled by certain clues that fans think point to this direction) that Foggy has gone into witness protection, which is a plotline from the comics. When asked about this theory, Dario Scardapane didn't exactly deny it.

There really wasn't anything to rule that out, was there?

Yesss!

I dared to hope he would return and I'm so glad to have my faith rewarded.

Still need Turk to return.

Jessica!

Matt and Karen together!

Foggy! Obviously just a flashback but still great to see him again!

Fisk propganda posters! Fisk boxing! Fisk in creepy video!

...on the first watch, I could've sworn I saw a glimpse of Colin Firth, even though there was no way in hell (heh) that was going to happen. Turns out I mistook Matthew Lillard doe him.

I cannot wait for March.

I still can't forgive them for killing Foggy :wah: :wah: That always brings me down.

Trailer did its job though, my hype level is slowly rising.

Yep.

It's why I didn't like the new series as much. They got rid of the core group and replaced them with a less interesting group. But it's a comic book series, so characters can come back from the dead.

I sure hope not, it's what put me off Marvel comics all those years ago due to the constant, often ham fisted and ill planned, resurrections. If everybody can come back any "death" is meaningless and the stories become boring.

As much as i dislike that they killed off Foggy i hope they don't bring him back because it would inevitably involve some dumb superpower, artifact or a story twist that he never was really killed but it was planned all along ( which almost never comes off as believable, certainly not the way the first season went on).

It wouldn't have to be that. A persistent rumor (one that even reached the ears of showrunner Dario Scardapane which he didn't exactly deny) is that the show could follow one of the storylines from the comics: Foggy survived the attack and went into witness protection. That said, it's a tough sell that Matt was fooled into thinking Foggy was murdered but even the original Netflix series had bigger stretches so it wouldn't be so weird.
