Yeah that was a dumb decision.
I can understand why Sean Payton tried for the 1st down instead of the field goal. He’s always been very balls-to-the-wall in his play calling, the team’s history this season for 4th down conversions was a coin-flip, at exactly 50%, and if the playoffs aren’t the time for risk-taking, what is? In retrospect, we can certainly say that it was a boneheaded move, but there was every indication, at that moment in time, that they could have pulled it off. The one variable that was really off was no Bo Nix, as the snow hadn’t yet really started becoming a factor until a little later.
Regardless, the decision will haunt them through the off-season, no question.

Condolences on the Ram’s loss, Digits. They played well and that last catch/knee down was heartbreaking.

I find it interesting that both the Seahawks and the Patriots replaced their head coaches in the last two years, and they were both supposed to be in rebuilding mode, and yet, here we are with a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX.
Sam Darnold is the first quarterback to go 14-3 with two different teams, and he threw no interceptions in the last two games.
Woooo! Go Seahawks! This post-season seems to be all about rematches. Good for Darnold for giving credit to his team when talking about proving the doubters wrong.
I should despise the Seahawks as the 49ers fan, but I despise LA more and I think Seattle is the best team in football. I think the Super Bowl won't be particularly close.
I'm watching the local post game coverage and the Seahawks players, in their civilian clothes, their families, the coaching staff and Jody Allen are out on the center of the center field taking photos.
I know someone who was at the game. I wonder if I'll see them tomorrow. And if the Hawks take down the Pats, I may talk to my sister-in-law about pulling my niece out of school and us going to the parade together! We went when the Hawks won 12 years ago. It was AWESOME!!
