I'm not sure yet. I am curious what Denis would come up with. On the other hand, I'd feel there is (especially with the story being told in part 3) no need for navigators to be seen. It would feel pushed in for the sake of, not part of the actual narrative.

As I just replied to Valkyrie013, the new films seem to eschew the more scifi aspects of the literature for a more "normal" tale of political intrigue. The second film totally negated aspects to fit the narrative of the director. I know they will never make a 1 to 1 film or series of Dune, but in many ways the newer films are more damning to the literature than the 1984 version (and the theatrical cut of that film is nuts...lol). If you can find it, you should seek out the "Spicediver" fan edit of the 1984 version, it might be the closest thing to the book for the 1984 version.
I just really hope Dune: part three embraces the bizarre aspects of Dune: Messiah to give us fans something to redeem the faults of the first two.
