Star Trek:Infection

Wow, this looks fantastic! Sadly, the Telltale "Walking Dead" games always make me jump out of my seat when playing and this will be the same. Love the genre mix. I hope it is available as a normal PC game as I don't want to invest in VR.

Have the system specs been released yet? Prefer not to upgrade my laptop if unnecessary.
All Steam says so far is a 64-bit OS and a VR headset. It doesn't look like it's shattering any visual benchmarks from the videos shown, so I'm expecting the specs to be fairly modest.

It's coming out TOMORROW!!!!

I've played it a bit, it struggles quite a bit on my crusty old (2020) system, but it's easily playable. Weird, because it looks a whole generation behind the likes of HL: Alyx which runs perfectly fine. Lots of backstory for the main character in this one, flashbacks to a campfire scene in the midst of a crisis, some kind of undercover mission and then things start to get weird...

I can see fan mods appearing in like 6 hours making the LCARS more screen-accurate:lol:

Yeah the Steam reviews and the Meta Quest store reviews say the game stutters a lot (this goes for both the PC version and the Meta Quest version). I'm gonna hold off on buying it until they patch it. I have Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown to keep me busy in the meantime.

I've played a little more and after an update, performance has improved somewhat. It's still a bit janky, the Index mapping on the phaser is a bit broken and shooting to kill was a lot harder than it needed to be.

Nerve pinching is an annoying mini game instead of just a squeeze which I didn't like. But I can get used to that.

Game is quite gory, which is cool. Lower halves of corpses with intestines splayed out, zombies and corpses claimed by the growths on the ship going through their eye sockets and whatnot. Certainly heavier than I was expecting from a Star Trek game.

I think this is quite an original concept for a Star Trek game. I'll have to get it for my Quest 3 at some point.
