A TV show with new characters and setting within a broad Trek universe? Sure. A movie? It’ll be Kirk or Picard (likely the former).

If this project goes through, they'll try to replicate the same perspective they've seen on TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, and Discovery, with new characters and a new storyline, all from a film perspective. They'll do this with a medium to high budget, and in a way that appeals to non-Star Trek fans who might otherwise watch "that" film.
