I take objection to this comment. Jenna Ortega (I can't remember if she was a Disney girl or a Nickleodeon girl, has been doing a great job balancing her career with serious acting films that may not make a lot of money and more popular film such as the Scream franchise. She is a great actress and is an upcoming future Oscar nominee when she gets the right project.
This means that, as much as I love SMG, Ortega is a much better actress. Maybe the better comparison is Emma Stone?
Jenna Ortega was a Disney "girl." While I generally enjoy her films, except for a few, she also stars in films that received poor reviews. Emma Stone is closer in popularity, but it's a fact that Emma Stone has made better films with better reviews. Judging by the cast of Jenna Ortega's films, I think she's getting paid well. Beyond that, I'm looking at upcoming films, including The Gallerist, where she plays a gallery owner's assistant and stars a host of other celebrities, and box office hits directed by Taika Waititi and J.J. Abrams. Looking at her project choices, I think she might be like Amy Adams. By the way, I hope Warner Bros. distributes the J.J. Abrams film. I hope "that" film survives the Warner Bros. acquisition rumors.
Jenna Ortega once said in an interview about her film choices, "If I choose two movies for my fans, I will also choose two movies for myself and act in them." It doesn't seem to matter to her what the critics think. Amy Adams seems to me the same way.

Both franchises have a rather large fanbase. They are simply people that just watch them. And also don't mind not watching them in theaters, just when they feel like it. At home.
You have a very weird and unhealthy obsession of linking box office with popularity. I can think of altleast 10 people in my close inner circle that would love to see Badlands. They also really don't have time for a cinema visit because of real life, or they have no family/friends that enjoy the franchise so they wait to stream it at home.
Really, dude.... Let this unhealthy capitalistic view of linking popularity to financial gain go. You're obsessed with box office numbers, from the day you started posting on this forum. It should only be important to studio dickheads, not fans of stories and entertainment.

And just a small piece of advice, and I'm not a mod so feel free to ignore it if you disagree, but this is the Sci-fi and Fantasy Forum, so it might be a good idea to just limit what you post about to only genre movies. If nothing else it would make this thread a lot less cluttered and a lot less of a pain in the ass to go through.
I started this thread primarily because people on this forum were asking for it. Since it's on page 31, they disagree with you. It's also true that I'm obsessed. I've been home since Covid. I don't even go to the cinema. I watch movies from home. Being an introvert, I have no friends. Also, since I watch movies and TV series on my computer all day, I've become a bit obsessed with box office revenue. I also don't think box office revenue is unimportant to moviegoers. Furthermore, I don't understand why my posts are constantly criticized on this forum.

It is also unfair to say a person who likes to follow box office numbers and discuss them only views movies through that lense. I know I love movies on their own merits, but I like to follow the box office, myself. I'd also suggest you look up YouTube movie critic Dan Murrell, who used to write for Honest Trailers, was recurring champion of both Movie Trivia Schmoedown and Screen Junkies Movie FIghts while these were going on, uploads at least two movie reviews per week with a good mix of mainstream movies and independent films, who clearly loves movies, but also does a weekly show on the box office and streaming charts, where he even comes up with his own specific charts - one time he did a chart on the box office numbers of tennis movies starring an actress famous for playing Spider-Man's love interest, because Kirsten Dunst, Emma Stone and Zendaya all did their own tennis movie - , and where he even creates his own metrics, like dividing the hours-watched numbers through the complete runtime to figure out the number of possible completed viewings.
So, yeah, I do think that analysing box office numbers does have a place in movie fandom. And in case of this forum, that place is this thread.
Also, for the record, if people like Predator movies, but not enough to go see them in theaters, then it is fair to conclude that they are not popular enough to warrant a $ 100 million budget (plus distribution and marketing costs).
