Disney and Doctor Who part ways

Since we're broaching this subject, here's my take on the season numbering of the past few years, according to me and me only:

Series 13, OR, season 14:
The 2023 David Tennant Specials

Series 1: OR Season 15:
Ncuti Gatwa's first season, spanning the 2023 Christmas Special and Disney's first series

Series 2, OR Season 16:
Ncuti Gatwa's second season, spanning the 2024 Christmas Special and Disney's second and final series

So really, the next series could be series 3/season 17. But I count the Tennant specials as a series.

lol i knda say the same thing expect i would say doctor who 2023 season aka doctor who 2005 season

I called it season 41.
Honestly, I've made my peace with not continuing the number from the classic show. It works because the season/series structures are vastly different, the major gap between classic and modern, and the very usage of season and series.

But the Disney season number reset was done purely for marketing reasons and I'm eager to forget that ever happened.

Maybe once it’s off Disney they reintegrate it back into the previous system.
Or they consequently switch to a per Doctor numbering.

I guess growing up reading comics with so many books always resetting to new issue number ones to increase sales, sometimes with the same creative teams continuing with the same story lines, that that sort of thing just doesn't bother me. Although, I do like that Marvel has started putting both volume issue number and legacy issue number on the covers of their books.

See, that's precisely why it bothers me. I hate that crap in the comics.

But good to read that Marvel is (finally) including the legacy issue number.
