Spoilers Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

I am imagining that Disney is planning to not renew the contract and BBC/BWS know this, but officially they can't do anything until the contract is complete.

Assuming by Jan, BBC can officially produce new seasons, they would need to secure funding and find an international distribution partner. They also need someone to host all the old seasons of Millennial Doctor Who now that their off HBO Max.

I'm trying to think if there are any other studios that don't have a big sci-fi franchise. The first one that comes to mind for me is Amazon, I don't think they have a big sci-fi franchise. They have a couple different fantasy series with Rings of Power and Wheel of Time, but I can't think of any sci-fi series on that scale.

They had the Expanse and The Boys. Fallout seems to have done well

Peacock might be a good fit. Plus they could run new episodes on the Sci-Fi channel which hasn't had a hit in ages Doctor Who also aired their in America when it first returned. I know that is when I first started watching the show and became a fan.

Doctor Who returns next Christmas

Thank goodness.
Even if it’s terrible, it can at least be parked up properly rather than its current abandoned with the doors open and up on bricks state.
Hopefully he will course correct a couple of things, even if he has to put Tennant back in situ from Donna’s garden for a bit while they sort of the future.

Bringing Tennant back again would make sense. Maybe team him up with Doctor Rose. Who might not be the Doctor or could be some kind of new Doctor. Has both Rose's and the Doctors memories merged together or something. Good time also to bring back The Master and sort undo the Timeless Child by having the Master be Jo Martin who was only pretending to be the Doctor.

I still think slotting her into 6B would be kinder. But overall, yes. Not least as Power of the Doctor gives some scope for having the pair be linked backwards as well as forwards.
Basically, need to clean the toys up and make sure they are neat in the cupboard with the right heads on again before moving forwards.
And maybe get Carole Ann Ford in properly this time, so there’s no more missed opportunities.

Your idea of 'good' is objectively terrible.

As for the news, its pretty great. It still sucks that it won't be Gatwa starring, as it could've been his exit and a new Doctor taking over. Ah, well.

Do we think RTD is gonna stay or this might be his exit? Thoughts?

Personally, I'd hope he stayed, but obviously I'd wish BBC somehow upped the effort and brought more episodes forward, even if the budget were to take a step back.
