Taylor Sheridan Leaving Paramount For NBC

I adored Yellowstone. Scicario is superb, Wind River is very good and Hell or High Water is one of my favourite films of the 21st Century.

I think he's a very good writer and a solid director. I do wonder if success hasn't gone to his head a little but he wouldn't be the first person that complaint could be levelled against and I doubt he'll be the last.

My guess is NBC is looking towards the end of the Dick Wolfe era and want to build up a staple of shows to replace the L&O and Chicago franchise.

It's going to go on into eternity.

SVU has been on for SO long, the original L&O was cancelled and rebooted during SVU's run!

They are two very different styles of show though, if Yellowstone and its prequels and Sons of Anarchy are any indication, compared to franchise TV like L&O.

Honestly, I haven't watched any of Sheridan's shows. Not sure why, Yellowstone in particular is one of those shows I do feel an itch to check out but never seem to get around to it. I have seen a few of his movies and have found them generally enjoyable.

I'm pretty sure it'll be a good long while before the L&O or Chicago franchises are put to rest. L&O in particular I don't see ever ending.

I see his name thrown around a lot, so presumably his shows are pretty popular like they mention, but I've never seen any of his work. What I've seen in the trailers doesn't really pull me in.

In terms of TV series, I think his best work is probably Sons of Anarchy, IMHO. The problem with Yellowstone and its spinoffs is that they lean too far in one direction for Prestige TV. They seem to be violent just for the sake of being violent. 1883 is the exception as it as it almost feels poetic at times and is the most balanced of the Yellowstones.

after the success of his yellowstoneverse shows id thought he would stay at paramount and make more moolaa in the streaming tv universe
