I know Instagram embeds sometimes don't work for some people (or just randomly), so here's the content of Ross Duffer's post (with a photo of "The Crawl" title card on a video editing screen):

Chapters One and Two: locked, mixed, scored, colored, DONE.
“The Crawl” is our favorite, most eventful first episode since Season 1.
“The Vanishing of…” (yeah yeah you think you know who blah blah) has by far the craziest cold open we’ve ever done. One of the sequences we’re most proud of this season.
I would tell you runtimes, but I was told not to. At a later date, I guess 🤷‍♂️
Some great teases. I like that he's stirring speculation on the identity of who (or maybe what?) vanishes in the second episode

Stranger Things was the first Netflix original series to become a pop culture phenomenon and branch out beyond the platform with Halloween costumes, toys and presence at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights en route to becoming a merchandising juggernaut. Netflix and the Duffer Brothers also successfully expanded the franchise to the stage with the award-winning play Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which has had successful runs both in the West End and on Broadway.

New featurette that has a mixture of past seasons, the final season, and behind-the-scenes footage:

I'm ready pretty amped up for the final season as I just finished the third season in my rewatch this past weekend, but this featurette pushes my excitement even further.

Industry insider Kim Masters of Puck revealed that Netflix is spending between $50 to $60 million per episode for the fifth season, despite Season 5’s episode count being one episode less than Season 4’s. This puts the total cost of Season 5 between $400 and $480 million. The show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, are said to be creating feature-length episodes once again, with each installment expected to run between 90 minutes and two hours.

I'm pretty sure the Duffers have already debunked the rumors that every episode is going to be that long. I've heard of Newsbreak, so I don't know how much we can trust this story.

Similarly, Maya Hawke said on a podcast that each episode would be two hours long. So, the showrunners could be lying. Of course, what they say could be true, but we'll see when it comes out.

Yup, they have. Last night, I just happened to watch their Variety interview from last week and they specifically called out those rumors. They remarked episodes four and eight are long but didn't specify times.

Speaking of which, the Netflix YouTube channel posted this video of the most (but not all) of the cast rewatching clips of the first season, the first part of an ongoing series:

I've also finished my own rewatch of the whole series...unfortunately two months too early. It's going to be a long wait!

Probably premiere venues, including Istanbul. They'll bring actors and such.

Man, this is hyped up so much it can only be the absolute greates shit or end up as a pile of burning dog shit worse than the GoT final season. I just can't see anything moderate in between.

Can't wait to pass judgement though ;) I fully expect main characters to die, they copped out with Max last season and i hope they have not plot armored the characters to a point it becomes ridiculous. A friend of mine will riot though is some characters really die like Hopper, she will go absolutely mental.

It's the final season, I'm sure at least one major character will die before it's over. It seems to be a rule these days that you need at least one major death during the final season.

I still expect Eleven to die. She seems like a character that might want to die considering all she has been through.

I need to think about a rematch again. Kind of dreading going through season 4 and those movie length episodes.

I feel that anyone is fair game, aside from Hopper and Max because the show already played with the idea of them dying (twice in Max's case).

However, that said, the one person I would not be okay with dying is Joyce, even in act of sacrifice for Will.

Do. Not. Kill. Joyce. :borg:

My girlfriend and I rewatched all four seasons over the course of five weekends and it didn't ever feel like work or exhausting. I loved every minute. You still have plenty of time to watch all of the seasons without being rushed.

Now that you've reminded me, season 4 was a bit of a slog at times because of those runtimes. Letting things breathe can be a good thing, but at points it felt less like deliberate pacing and more padding.

I've always suspected Eleven to be one of the characters killed off in the final season, so her death would not be a shock (no matter how it happens). I'm hoping Lucas is not killed off (and playing into one of film fantasy's worst tropes), as it would be terrible for Max to be restored, only for Lucas to end up dead.

Hopper has been teased as dead before, so one would imagine the showrunners would not take the character in that direction again.

Jonathan has been sort of "just there" of late, and that's just the kind of character who would be written to step up to have some final, unexpected big moment, so I believe he's high on the Grim Reaper's list.
