A really, really great dress:

This was just one of those magic finds. You know the kind; you enter the boutique and there on the left, just behind the trapeze blouses that are so unfortunately (for shapely women) dominating the Trends, is the dress. Then there is the moment of fear in the dressing room; Will it fit? I never seem to fit right in tailored dresses: if it fits my hips it'll be way too big around the waist, if it fits the waist it'll be way too small around the hips. But this? This. It was just perfect!

Still haven't figured out how I'm going to accessorize it though.

i had a big day today also, with the great deals on star trek and other tv shows on amazon

star trek tng season 3 (im upgrading from all of those 2 episode each cassettes)
star trek ds9 season 2 (just getting these, i used to watch them on spike)
scrubs season 2 (again, big fan just starting to buy though)
the office seasons 1 and 2

and last week i bought
ds9 season one (i am already finished with it)
a good months supply of illegal substances
a cool "chicks dig klingons" t-shirt

It really is a wonderful fit.

Considering the pics you've posted, I've come to the conclusion that you must have the most magical wardrobe since C.S. Lewis first put pen to paper.

See my shoe suggestion in the Pic thread. :)

I can't wait to take it for a spin!

And this is me making an effort to avoid being too costumey! They had the same dress in black with brightly colored polka dots too!
I thought about getting the oversize floppy hat and kid gloves and going the whole Pretty Woman route (though, for the record, I hate that movie! It's just the clothes I like!), but that might be a bit much, no? ;)
Honestly, I just like to dress up. And after a childhood of hand-me-downs and trying to mix and match Salvation Army rags for the wildest look possible, having the ability to just go out and get what I want has brought out the Little Girl in a Huge Feather Boa and Her Mother's Red Lipstick in me.

I think I speak for the guys here when I say we'd like to see you take a spin in it too. :D

Floozy. :p

Preaching to the choir, here. :)

I was lucky financially growing up, but being considerably wider in my younger years, I never really enjoyed clothes shopping much back then. My choices were limited and I could never express myself the way I wanted to. When I lost the weight I wanted to, the effect on me was like a kid finding a new aisle in Toys R Us. So I can empathise with being able to play with new toys. :D

I know this is not a purchase, but I netflixed the series Vandread and have received the first two DVDs from the series. In case some of you don't know, Vandread is an anime series about men and women who live on different planets. Women are considered monsters and both of them live in seperate places. In this series, a group of women pilots join forces with three men and go off to battle in space. It's sort of like Transformers meets Star Trek. It's a really interesting series.

I recently bought and received STV Season 5 on DVD yesterday and also bought Odd Girl Out and should receive that tomorrow or the next day. :)

1. Michael Clayton on Blu-Ray
2. A burrito for dinner
3. Xbox Live points
4. A few Mexican cops and politicans

Double Hamburger, large chili cheese fries and an extra large coke for dinner.

I also picked up four books today:

The Elfstones of Shannara by Terry Brooks
The Wishsong of Shannara by Terry Brooks
Dune: House Atreides by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson
Hyperion by Dan Simmons

A bottle of Varadero rum. And a haircut.

And yesterday, I bought Memoirs of a Geisha, Superman Returns, From Dusk till Dawn and Bring it on!

SimCity Deluxe 4
TurboTax Premium
New ink cartridges for my printer.
haircut

Today I'll be making a trip to the local farmer's market.

Crappy food for me, good food for the ladyfriend, at a nameless Chinese restaurant: $25.

Time with the ladyfriend: Priceless.
