I thought I should index the polls regarding which Trek season is best and all, in case people are searching them.

I'd recommend, and suggest, that this thread be stickied? I believe it would serve it best...

As of 9-4-08:

Overall, I've noticed that TOS was voted for having the best first two seasons, and by quite a large difference), though its latter two seasons (especially TAS) were not as heartly voted.

TNG and DS9 battled it out from season 3 and onwards, though ENT did make its stamp.

TNG was voted to have the best third season, with ENT and DS9 being nearly tied (ENT's third season outvoted DS9 by one vote).

DS9 was voted to have the best fourth season, with TNG following close behind (two votes difference. ENT was close, but not as close as before (an indication that ENT's third season is the most well-regarded from ENT?).

From the fifth and on, DS9 seemed to have the better hand - with TNG declining steadily, and VOY being static all the way.

Did I mention that VOY was always last on all season polls, beside the third and fourth ones?

Overall, I'd say that on the long run, TOS and DS9 had the better hand, with DS9 winning three in a row, and TOS outwinning its first two with a LARGE difference. And of course, TNG was always good on votes, for its seasons 2-4.

Again, thats all according to 9-4-08. Tomorrow, can bring another vote...

Why does that make the polls legitimate? Legitimate for what, when, where? The only people voting are people who visit this forum, and that changes all the time. The vote would have been different a year ago, and might be different a year from now. The polls are a snapshot only, not something that needs to be saved for all time as if they will always be true.

Whoops--didn't notice you were not the OP, perhaps you were being sarcastic, sorry if I missed a joke.

no, nothing to do with that. The only issue is that best season polls reoccur so often that it's not worth stickying this. Soon new polls will appear and you'll have to change the links to those threads. Besides, it's nice to keep stickies to a minimum.
