RIP, Robert Redford.

Just saw this on the news. He was so incredibly talented, as an actor, writer and director, but he was also such a good person. He was a dedicated environmentalist, and invested his own money in programs designed to foster new talent in the film industry.

He will be missed.

I was in shock when I heard the news. But considering his age, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. Not only did he co-star in one of my favorite Oscar winning films - "The Sting", he also appeared in my favorite Marvel film, "Captain America - The Winter Soldier".

RIP Mr. Redford.

Johnny Hooker (The Sting) , and about a bunch of other primo roles...but his best role was the role he played as Robert Redford...

RIP :(

I know there's a lot of his films I haven't seen, but Sneakers and Spy Games are regular watches for me. Have to take a look at some of the ones I've missed.

Try a very early movie of his called The chase.
Redford as a redneck baddie and Brando as a reluctant sheriff.
Tell them Willie boy is here..this time Redford as the sheriff.

And while I know precious little about baseball..the natural.

Obviously the classics and hits all deserve a rewatch. But if you fancy something else from his CVI strongly recommend All Is Lost, which deserved a wider audience and, from the earlier part of his career Little Fauss and Big Halsy, which he said in his autobiography had the best script of any film he’d done. By contrast, All is Lost, is almost without dialogue.
