I really liked Lower Decks.
I am not really sure why they cancelled/ended the show. It could have gone on for years.

I think the characters were promoted too soon. For me, it curtailed the whole lower decks vibe. They all had to grow up and accept responsibility too soon.
Don’t get me wrong, they would have had to eventually. In my opinion it was just too soon.

I am really enjoying SNW right now.

Are they really going to do a puppet episode?
Seriously?

I think the issue was them needing to all stay the same rank. Logically Mariner and Rutherford have way more experience and so it could see them being promoted but Boimler was only a year into it at the start of the series and Tendi just started, by S4 only 1.5 years had passed give or take. They could have left them as ensigns until season 5 at least. You could argue that Tendi and T'Lyn had experience from their time on other ships but still, they could have waited before promoting them all.

??? Why???

Excellent question.

“I have a question.”

“What’s that?”

“It’s an interrogative statement, used to test knowledge. But that’s not important right now.”

Taken from the files of Police Squad!

I really wish I was here right now.

Boimler had already been promoted once, and then had it (IMHO) unfairly taken away, so I was glad to see him get it back.

Also, Rutherford apparently got offered a promotion after No Small Parts. I cant think of anything that would have really changed in the rest of the show other than him already having his own room. But I'm not really pushing that hard for earlier promotions anyways (though Boimler's demotion was dumb).

I didn’t really understand their promotions, to be honest.
Doesn’t it take years to even be considered for promotion? Regardless of experience?
After all, they didn’t really go on they many missions to be considered for promotion.
Did they?
