NFL 2025: A new era dawns?

Be interesting to see if this has any effect on quality of play.

I doubt it—you can get them from CVS…..church supply stores

Some have said that adverse effects are not widespread

The Jaguars' Cam Little's 70 yard FG would have been a new record if it had happened in a regular season game. To me, it's a distinction without a difference, but whatever.

For me, this is where the game becomes no fun. What's the point of even playing defense now, when we're entering the era where 60-yard FGs will become the norm?

The NFL needs to do something before their product ends up being two dudes bombing FGs all game from 60+ yards.

I say switch the point values of FG and Safety. Field goals would be worth two points going forward, a Safety would be worth three. Which makes sense as a Safety is much tougher to get.

The field goal has been offset by coaches going for two for no reason and later in the game it becomes the difference between a two-score and one-score deficit, a field goal deficit and a touchdown deficit. Now instead of being down by 3 with a minute left, you're down by 4.

Vikings WR Rondale Moore, who missed all of last season with a knee injury during training camp when he was with the Falcons, suffered a season-ending leg injury on the first play of the preseason game.

IDK, I feel like they're messing around with baseball so much it might not even be the same game at some point. Still not bad to think about though, they've changed the kickoff rules if for no other reason than to try to prevent injuries (not sure if it's done that).

I also see more cases where teams go for it on 4th down, depending on field position. It's more and more like college football in that respect.

Sanders takes over in Cleveland and Watson never EVER starts again. LOL. Suits me just fine. I hope there's lots of shots of Watson sitting all alone and forlorn on the bench.

The Watson trade is the worst trade of all time. Sure, the Walker trade turned Dallas into a dynasty and Minnesota got nothing out of it, but the Vikings didn't do additional damage to themselves like the Browns did with that contract extension.

The contract also reset the QB market, not by a little but by a lot, so 31 teams hate the Browns for that too.
