Gina Carano Sueing for Wrongful Termination from Disney

Winning a motion to compel is a long way from having a proven case. It just means they're still only in discovery. The fact that Disney hasn't already just paid her "now bugger off and never talk to us again" money, means they still think they can win the case and that any PR hit would be negligible. They're just going through the motions of delaying as long as possible on the off chance she'll run up a high enough legal bill to give up and go away regardless. Wake me when something significant actually happens.

Well since Mr. Elon is footing the bill, I doubt they'll go away with a legal bill.
But for the past few times it hasn't been thrown out by the judge, and there getting irritated with the mouse's delaying tactics, so .. we'll see.

Well, the statement from Disney says that they look forward to working with her on a project in the 'near future'.
So, Disney probably caved to demands/pressure and we're going to be seeing her in a Star Wars project soon.
I honestly expected to see her in a Kevin Sorbo movie by now.

or they're saying she'll be kept in mind if something comes up but at the end of the day there's no guarantee she'll get a gig.

it's not long she's some really talented actress that a producer would have mind for a role.

I can see them bringing her back in one of The Mandalorian movies in a small role or a cameo. I have no problem with separating the art from the artist and frankly their people out their working who have done worst things than her.

And yet Sandman has been canceled as well as Dead Boy Detective Agency.

I think its wonderful. She won and will hopefully get her role back. She had California law on her side. So excellent.

I liked her in her role in the show, don't care about the politics.

Yeah. She was really great in the show. I hope they bring her character back.
If she had done that while employed by X or right wing media/whatever counts as "their" movie industry she's be a star for sticking it to the bleeding heart liberals but as it stands she chose her battle with the wrong opponent and lost.

Actually she just won. Justice was served in this case because she had the law on her side. She had a contract. Im betting Disney paid her contract out and they've pretty much made nice with her. Hopefully she'll be back in Star Wars one day. Im really happy for her.

I forgot she existed, the plot of Mandalorian season 3 didnt really have room for her. I dont think anything will be gained or lost if she returns or not her arc was done.

Did she though? All i see are vague statements from both sides that an agreement has been reached. Could be that Disney had paid a couple of tens of grands just to end this and put it behind them, which is less than pocket change for them.

Disney has issued a statement saying they look for opportunities to work together again which is as non-committed as one could be besides flat out saying No chance!

I don't expect Carano to ever appear in a Disney production ever again, her star has faded hard and precious few are impatient to see her back on the screen. That entire production plan with her taking center stage in that planned Star Wars Ranger show died with her dismissal, Disney has moved on well past the need to have her in a project and Mando is moving to the big screen and is in pre-production with not even a peep about her having a role there.

So by all accounts i think her career is in a dead end street, all she can get is some minor projects now and she's not Scarlett Johansson level A Lister that can co to court with Disney, win and still not be blacklisted.
