85 - 90 mins is the perfect time for a comedy IMHO. I hate it when they outstay their welcome. Judd Apatow take noteI just read a review that says this movie clocks in at a brisk 85 minutes.
When was the last movie that was less than 90 minutes?
Picking up loosely from a discussion from the DCU (or was it the Superman?) thread, perhaps there is an appetite for 90 minute, moderate or low budget films which make people laugh like a drain. Maybe we’ll see more comedies like this (which were a pretty regular cinematic fixture through the 1980s and 1990s.This is a good laugh - at 49 I was by far one of the youngest people in the audience.
Really? I had a few youngsters in my viewing. This is a good laugh - at 49 I was by far one of the youngest people in the audience.
I've never seen any of the original Naked Gun movies, so I'm happy to say this was hilarious. There's so, so many good jokes: the sparking water, every cop in the building having a film noir-style monolog running, the ongoing coffee cup jokes, the owl, that entire snowman interlude.
The story was more engaging than I expected. I did care about the characters despite how silly it was.
