General Trek Questions and Observations

I don’t get how these ships cycle through letters so fast, yet a thousand years later Voyager is only up to the J. Maybe they’ve cycled through the alphabet multiple times?

We really don't need to cycle through the alphabet at all. I wish they would have left this trend to the Enterprise alone.

USS Defiant NCC 1764
USS Defiant NX/NCC 74205

Not every ship needs to keep the same registry number.

I don’t disagree — but that ship sailed (so to speak) a long time ago.

Yes. Keep the name to honor a previous ship, but the new one gets a new registry number. That's how the US Navy does it, that's how the British Navy does it. And the old battle honors are kept for the new ship as well, so you get some British submarine with battle honors for fighting the Spanish Armada.

In I Borg, Riker says:

RIKER: Doctor Crusher, meet me in transporter room two with a medical away team.

To which Crusher replies:

CRUSHER: Acknowledged.

But when they beam down, it’s just Riker, Worf and Crusher.

What happened to the away team?

One of the enduring mysteries of BermaTrek I guess.

Enterprise has gone thru CV-6, CV(N)-65 and CV-80 as designations for each -new- aircraft carrier. The Navy didn't keep the CV-6 designation and add letters like Starfleet.

She is the medical away team. Riker didn't tell her how many folks to take. I guess the next senior medical officer doesn't have to invoke a policy like Riker does with Picard for away missions.

When Riker got to the transporter room and saw the two mids that she chose, he decided not to take them after all.

I'm not sure SNW will tackle a story about sex trafficking, err 'wifeing miners'. I can see them riffing on Mudd and his androids.
The androids seemed to be sentient, with free will. Yet they were forced to serve Mudd, including in ways that they couldn't spell out on primetime television.

Just leave Harry out of this. His first appearance on the Enterprise needs to be the first time we saw him in TOS.

We don't need to drag everyone back for SNW, especially tertiary guest characters. Harry can sit somewhere and ferment into the scoundrel he is in Season 1 of TOS.

Why would the appearance need to refer to either of those episodes? Why not something new? I liked how his appearance on DISCO gave a big nod to I Mudd by highlighting Stella. That was both new and a reference to TOS at the same time.

They could dramatise one or two of the incidents in Mudd's checkered career that was mentioned in his hearing in Mudd's Women and use it as one of the plots of an episode:
COMPUTER: Offense record. Smuggling. Sentence suspended. Transport of stolen goods. Purchase of space vessel with counterfeit currency. Sentences, psychiatric treatment, effectiveness disputed.
