Star Trek: Conquest (Wii)

Let's just say that I got it as a gift and played it in the 2 player mode with a friend for awhile, but I haven't spent much more than 15 minutes on the actual game since December.

So on the one hand, I'm not qualified to judge since I don't know the game very well.

On the other hand, doesn't that story tell you what you want to know?

I've looked over this game too but haven't bought it. It would be fun to pickup at a cheap price.

It wouldn't be so bad if it at least every even numbered Trek game was good.

Good to know.
I finally found my Girlfriend a Wii and while we were shopping around for the different Wii stuff I saw it.
Glad I didn't pick it up.

It's too bad the MMO was canceled. That looked promising.

I think the problem with making Trek games is too many company focus on combat and action. Neiter of which is a core ideal or concept in Trek which is very story, diplomacy, and enlightenedness driven.

In Conquest the Federation is after armed, forced, galactic domination? The hell?

"A Final Unity" - that was a decent Trek game.

I thought "Birth of the Federation" was a decent strategy game, with a few fatal flaws: it got INCREDIBLY slow in late turns, and there was way too much micromanagement of the least interesting kind. But the basic gameplay and premise - control a civilization and expand throughout the galaxy using military, science, negotiation, trade, or what you will, with each society having its own strengths - was a good one. I'd love to see a sequel.

Oh, and "A Final Unity" was good, too.

I didn't buy it for Wii, instead I picked it up for playstation 2 for 14 bucks brand new. I only played it for about 5 minutes though...it doesn't seem compelling enough to force me to put aside my work or the other great games out there.

What I wish they would make is a Star Trek RPG.

Its from the same people that brought us the wonder made 360/PC Trek game Legacy.........

Oopps...My apologies, My sarcastic button was left on....(Click)

Its from the same lazy assed people that brought us the god awful Legacy, then abandoned it out in the wild without any support despite it being a complete mess(Especially the PC version), that should be enough for you to know that it would be better to wait for this game to hit the bargain bins before you consider spending your hard earned cash on it.

Mad doc software (now called Rockstar New England) did legacy but it seems Bethesda Softworks is the developer of this game.

Bit off topic: Not sure why Rockstar purchased Mad doc software as they are terrible (there recent software anyway). The 360 port of Bully was Bug ridden, even after the patch its still got some nasty bugs
