If you haven't read Andy Weir's novel, don't watch the trailer if you don't want to be spoiled about certain things.

11.9 Light-years from home. 6th grade science teacher. 1 chance to save us all. Based on Andy Weir's New York Times best-selling novel. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

I haven’t read the novel, but the trailer did rather feel like it was telling you the whole movie. (And the music seemed to insistently bash you over the head, over footage that mostly didn’t feel like it was supposed to bash you over the head.)

Not a fan of Gosling, and it looks like they're joking up the script a bit to accommodate the standard Gosling/Reynolds/Pratt acting style (which is getting tiresome). But hey, it was a great story, so I'm looking forward to it.

The standard Gosling acting style? Not seen many RG films I guess?

The character in the book is jokey, same as the character in the Martian was, it's how Weir writes his characters. (Admittedly I'm yet to read Artemis).

All I can say about the film is, if they get Rocky right it's going to be awesome!

I love the novel so I'm looking forward to it, despite my disappointment of Gosling's casting. I like him more nowadays than I did before, but he didn't feel like the right fit for the role, but the trailer is promising.

I am surprised and bummed that the trailer showed Rocky at all. That should've been kept a surprise.

Meh. Something to waste time streaming some point in the future.
It seemed that way to me too, also amazon will establish their own international film distribution department in mid-2026. They have made an agreement with sony to release the films they will release by 'then' globally. sony and some local distribution companies sony works with will release globally. including this film, 4 of amazon's films. also in turkey amazon films come directly to prime video instead of 'theaters'. due to current laws. but it seems like it will be released by sony through a distribution company that shows sony films in cinemas in turkey. actually they were going to release 'red one' like this, they released it directly to prime video instead.

The book was so awesome, and I've been looking forward to this ever since it's been announced.

Even though I read and enjoyed The Martian and Artemis, I never did read this one. Not sure why, just never got around to it.

After coming off the high that was The Martian, I didn't feel Artemis was a great book. Project Hail Mary, on the other hand is a triumph, and possibly even better than The Martian. The concept itself is fairly unique.

Gosling has gone waaaay more deep that Reynolds and Pratt ever did. I mean, Bladerunner 2049 just to name a huge one, but many others.
Sorry, your definitely one of the cool dudes around here, but this does not compute.

Agreed, though I want to mention that Reynolds can be really good in a non-jokey role. There’s a scene in Life where his astronaut character is faced with being locked into an airlock (for a good reason) and probably doomed; watch his face. You can see his whole train of thought and emotion as he flashes from horror and anger to understanding and acceptance, even approval.

Okay, maybe I'm conflating him with those other two - I kinda find them all interchangeable. But Gosling did not impress me in BR 2049.

Really? I need to rewatch some of his more serious stuff and than rewatch BR2049. Maybe I'll agree. I watched it about 6 months ago I felt he was very nuanced with tiny little cues.

I think he's amazing in BR2049, it's heartbreaking
when he realises he isn't special after all :(

Love him in LA La Land and The Nice Guys and he's great in Barbie, Drive, First Man etc.
