Surely something good happened to you today

I have some great news to share, regarding my real-life family. Two days ago, my 23-year-old nephew Dustin called me up, to excitedly tell me he's going to be a father!

My sister Nita (his mother) is on cloud nine, by her own admission; I already teased her by saying "Congrats, Grandma", which made her laugh.

Thats great. My nephew just got married. It does mark that I am "old" but it's still nice.

And you get to be a 'great' uncle, now that should make you feel old

I've got a few great nephew and nieces now, I love seeing them and for some reason they love seeing me, probably because I tease them and throw them around, "can't catch me' which means please catch me and torment me ha.

you probably spoil them, too

Arrived at our vacation destination with no hiccups. (Drive to Cape Coral, FL.) Even unloaded all luggage and food we just got for the trip in less than 15 minutes. (Stuff for me, my wife, her mom, and 2/3 of The Trio, our nephews.) Seven of Nine would be proud at our level of effiency.

House is fantastic.

It even has a giant tribble on the bed. (It's not actually a tribble, but it sure as hell looks like one. It's bigger than my head! I think we found 'Big Momma Tribble'.)

Another awesome thing about this house... there are sun decorations around the pool walls that remind me of the ones from "Masks".

A gigantic tribble AND a reminder of an excellent episode? I love that!

Masaka is waking!

A turtle as big as a dinner plate decided to deposit her eggs at the end of my sidewalk. I got to watch her dig a hole for her eggs and cover them up. Turtles seem to like my front porch area. At least this one wasn't a snapping turtle.
That's really cool! Turtles aren't native to my area so it's crazy to imagine that somewhere someone is just seeing turtles put their eggs at the end of the sidewalk.

After three years of trying to get someone to hook up a disconnected sprinkler system at what used to be my parent's house, a landscaping company I called two weeks ago came out and restored the system to operation, after a lot of digging in a clay hardpan soil, and replacing pipe damaged by the company that drilled a new well in 2022. They will return in 3 weeks to add battery powered automation to replace the existing manually operated sprinkler valves.
