I knew enough about the account to know it wouldn't be a critical or hate video, but yeah, more negative titles do help with hits. Because people love watching content from creators who despise the things they claim they like.

Yeah, I recently saw one for Thunderbolts* with the word 'Failure" in big bold letters. It was from a channel that's usually pretty even handed, but I skipped on it for the negative headline.

Because it makes more sense than them once again giving her another long term contract, especially now that Star Wars is failing to get people to watch what is being made under her leadership. Granted logical sort of goes out the window in this issue because almost anyone else in her position would have been fired years ago with her job performance. People joke but I am really starting to think that she actually does know lots of secrets that certain people don't want revealed and thus she has been able to leverage that into making lots of money off of SW.
Yes, the last couple productions didn't get as good of numbers as they wanted, but overall the franchise has still been doing incredibly well, and they're going to look at her overall performance. It's also worth keeping in the bigger picture of the entire streaming and movie industry, nothing is doing as well as it used to, so it's not like this all something unique to Star Wars.

But I think it's more than just making money. Like many of the terrible DC films made money but eventually the fact that movies like Suicide Squad and Batman vs Superman were bad ended up having a negative long term impact on the franchise. Quality is very important IMO to long term success. Also sometimes you need massive success stories and not just middling hits. Even though their have been some good Star Wars movies under Kennedy she has not really had many of the home run style hits we saw in the MCU. It's kind of telling that 2 out 3 of it's best successes were on tv. That would be The Mandalorian and Andor with Rogue One basically being the best movie they have done but Rogue One doesn't hold up to a Iron Man or avengers or Guardians etc. Just being watchable is not enough.

This may just be me, but if a creator I like and follow starts posting clickbaity thumbnails and titles, then I'm unfollowing them. I have little time for pandering of any kind, and if they're misrepresenting their actual content just to drive engagement, then that's actually worse as I just straight up loose all trust and respect for them.

So yeah, not clicking on that video, and avoiding that channel in the future!

ETA: Oh and it looks like that channel's avatar is made with generative AI. That upgraded it from a disregard to a block!

And quality she's doing pretty well too, there were a couple things people weren't thrilled with, but the vast majority of what she's done has gotten good to great reviews.

'The Painful Truth Andor Season 2 Teaches Every Writer'

Well put together video - found it both informative and insightful - and certainly packed a lot into the 8 minute run-time. Nice one. :techman:

The blurb: 'Architecture can tell a story, but sometimes it can say something so meaningful that it transforms the story taking place within it. There's just such a place in Ghorman's capitol city.'
