Thanks! It was a lot of hard work, but worth it!As a kid, I would have lost my mind for a model like that. Also today. It looks like the 11-footer in D.C.
Same. The 11 footer is the first thing that came to mind. To hell with cgi. This is what the Enterprise looks like.As a kid, I would have lost my mind for a model like that. Also today. It looks like the 11-footer in D.C.
Many Thanks indeed!Same. The 11 footer is the first thing that came to mind. To hell with cgi. This is what the Enterprise looks like.
To be fair some dedicated fans have created excellent and stunning 3D models of the TOS E, far superior to what CBS did in TOS-R. I know a lot of fans add plating or aztek-ing and even TMP style lighting to create more detail, but the smooth skin of the TOS E telegraphs the idea of far-future construction methods we can barely imagine.
Thanks! AND will do!It is indistinguishable from the model which appears in the original show.
Said as a modeler/painter. Your work is absolutely sublime. More angles please!
I had a second-printing of The Making of Star Trek growing up, the one with this full-color frame on the cover...It is indistinguishable from the model which appears in the original show.

At the risk of being sacrilegious it's actually better. It has no production compromises or construction boo-boos and it's finished/detailed all around. This is a miniature you could film from any side or any angle. It is indistinguishable from the model which appears in the original show.
