No point in showing up either, we know The Burn[ham] is coming in the 3200s.And one of them is going to have to last a LONG time. The J doesn't show up for another 150 years!

I know what you mean but it's still jarring that's all. I wanna know what's happening after DSC's journey to the 32nd century, any stories prior is gonna feel like a prequel to that.Well, at least the 1701-J is around 610 years before the Burn. Still doesn't mean the Burn isn't coming, but any Enterprise-J will be distant history by the time of that disaster.
Never understood why knowing the outcome limits interest in a story. History must bore many people.
And that's for 1x Timeline, given how much time travel can split the time line along many branches, the possible future time lines are so wide that it's insane. No point in showing up either, we know The Burn[ham] is coming in the 3200s.![]()

ENT S3 should have been that.Earth-Romulan War, the movie ending with the Federation Charter signing in San Francisco.
Not with the current regime it won't. Give it to Lord Matalas and he'll give us an outstanding show. The problem with an Earth-Romulan War is that it would never meet the fans expectations.
Exactly. One, the producers would not be able to resist showing Romulans in some form, because face to face combatants is fun, and the tension of possible Vulcan/Romulan spy is good drama. Two, there's too much book lore that people have put to memory that will violate it and cause frustration for consider "inaccuracies."The problem with an Earth-Romulan War is that it would never meet the fans expectations.
If I were redoing Enterprise from scratch, I would start in the immediate aftermath of the war with the signing of the Federation Charter and do a 'Year One,' with the various races/cultures coming together to form the Federation/Starfleet and how they overcame various obstacles.
Three, the limitations as Spock described them would be hard to abide by. Primitive starships, atomic weapons, and use of radio contact only.
Romulans had cloaking tech and holographic hiding tech a full century prior to TOS. They broke canon already.Three, the limitations as Spock described them would be hard to abide by. Primitive starships, atomic weapons, and use of radio contact only.
Don't forget to the ability to control their Holographic Drone ship many light years away through Electronic Telepathic controlRomulans had cloaking tech and holographic hiding tech a full century prior to TOS. They broke canon already.
