I like the Trek Universe, I'm fine here.
JAYSUS.Basically Starfleet has cadets, officers, and O'Brien
and no one wants to be O'Brien. Even and especially O'Brien
Okay, then they just want people to streamline the production process, okay, that can be accomplished. Then here is where you will always be. Not many folks get hired off the streets with no experience and no ability to collaborate. Hollywood wants people that can streamline the production process, not one's that increase it and the production budget for literally zero gain.
Okay, then they just want people to streamline the production process, okay, that can be accomplished.
They want bang for their production budget buck, I can work with them on that.
That's something I'll have to figure out.Not without experience...
Perfect. That way this made up StarFleet can be non-military while Starfleet is a military .Which is why I've suggested before that you create your own universe.
That lasted in less time than it took for the ink to dry,Is the starship U.S.S. Enterprise a military vessel?Yes, but only semi-military in practice -- omitting features which are heavily authoritarian. For example, we are not aware of "officers" and "enlisted men" categories. And we avoid saluting and other annoying medieval leftovers. On the other hand, we do keep a flavor of naval usage and terminology to help encourage believability and identification by the audience. After all, our own Navy today still retains remnants of tradition known to Nelson and Drake.
It doesn't need to, it's already a HSO (Hybrid Service Organization).Perfect. That way this made upStarFleet can be non-military while Starfleet is a military

That group's vessel just asking to get "One-Shoted" like the USS Grissom.I do think a more science-oriented Star Trek would be interesting. A ship that is scientists from top to bottom with a more community approach to things like command. Though the trick would be to make it interesting to audience while largely being without things like phasers and photon torpedoes.
An exploration group with civilian backing.

If only it were that easy. You are just a fountain of creativity. You should go to Hollywood... right now.

So the HSO is a SF made up of SEs who mostly likely will get OS in aIt doesn't need to, it's already a HSO (Hybrid Service Organization).
It's military when it needs to be, other wise they're Scientific Explorers.
The ACIYep. The American Continent Institute is the organization that operated the S.S. Columbia in 2236.
