What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Sorry, I wasn't born then, and I haven't had time to go back and watch TOS.

I grew up with the TNG era, so that's my Trek. Everything that is TNG and newer.

I was born during TNG's original run, and I've managed to see the entire franchise multiple times over.

Not being born at the time something originally aired is not a justifiable excuse.

Well, I'm sorry that watching all of (TOS Movies) TNG/DS9/VOY (TNG Movies) (JJ-Verse Trek Movies), (Kurtzman Era Trek) isn't enough Trek for you.
I guess I'm not enough of a Trekkie to compare to some of you OG's who have watched TOS countless times.

TNG has been off the air for 31 years this year. It premiered only 18 after the end of TOS. That provides some interesting context that will make you feel very old, very fast.

So why is it so bad to be labeled a "Hybrid Organization" vs a Pure Military Force?

What is it about that label that you don't like?

It does include the Military bit inside it as part of it's core duties.

We're not denying it's existence or application.

Because, as others have repeatedly mentioned in this thread, the military has multiple core duties. The military itself is not a core duty.
