So, season 1 held up quite well 8 years later. The only bits that didn't work for me were the Mudd episodes and the Mirror Universe mini-arc.

The MU seemed like an unnecessary side step and unfortunately turned Lorca into a pooey villian. He was great just being dodgy bastard, as far as I'm concerned.

Apart from that, I can't say it wasn't a fun time rewatching it.

I'm on a re-watch of S2 right now and I love it more than the first time I watched (which I loved it a lot). Also this show is so beautifully designed. Just finished E4 An Obal for Charon, an episode packed with plot developments and pathos. To this day I don't understand the "too much crying" complaints for this series when the amount of crying seems commensurate with the reasons for doing so. The emotional stakes are high. Saru gives that speech about being a refugee and it's deeply moving.

They weren't terrible episodes, that's for sure. I just got sucked onto the Klingon War arc and became a little impatient, I think.

Same, it's good. Absolutely prefer the first season, but with two episodes to go, S2 has a lot going for it. New Eden remains a particular favourite of mine.

I would predict that this is a very common thing. I myself was guilty of this. Now I still find season 1 a tough challenge to sit through but seasons 2-5 are all divine.

Paramount first licensed Halo and then Special Ops: Lioness to Netflix in certain countries, and previously licensed Yellowstone for worldwide broadcast. Since these are platforms that broadcast these shows in Turkey, they were not added to Netflix in Turkey. I wonder if they will add Star Trek Discovery and Lower Decks to Netflix with all seasons in Turkey and the rest of the world. Of course, many countries, including Türkiye, can license local platforms that they have agreements with.

Finally! Stop pandering to the fans! If you write a good story you are passionate about it will gain its own fans, either new or old. But the constant hand wringing over canon and fan thoughts is exhausting and nonsensical, a meaningless exercise in futility.

It's such a poor way to approach a story.

Just get fans on the writing staff, then you don't need to worry about what the fans might think because they're sitting in the room right there! We saw this with TNG, DS9, Lower Decks, Prodigy... Doctor Who.
