Property rights and commerce in Trek, some musings

Ever heard anyone in Star Trek talk about Cleveland? I rest my case.

;)

Book look at what we really got, they have a nice "Cabin in the Woods" that they live in.

As the last of his species, Book, if he wanted to be that guy, has certain political and property rights to abuse, as he equates to an emperor, after a fashion... Are we sure that was not a Kwejian Embassy?

Seems awfully normal to be a "Embassy".

Looks more like their personal home between him & his wife than a functional embassy.

That was forgiven, she's returned to StarFleet.

How many people died, and how many ships were lost at the battle of the binary stars?

Forgiven, forshmiven.

When she is old, and of no further use, Section 31 is going to put a plastic bag over her face while she is sleeping.

Okies...

Sarek presented a physical document signed by the UFP President during the season one finale.

Seems legit.

Carry on.

While I can't comprehend how such a system would work, I'm reminded of the Shatnerverse books where Kirk (back when the belief was money on earth ended between TOS and TNG, VOY would retcon it back to just after ENT) wonders why he can't just wander up to San Francisco fleet yard and claim a ship for himself, or just claim any old nicer apartment as his. Spock or McCoy would be about to explain then get interrupted.
