OMG it does
I think they even plan on making a Larger Variant to deal with the Pacific Theater / China Threat & a Smaller Variant for the European Theater / Russian Threat.

If they were smart, the larger version would be 2x Engine & manned.
The smaller version would be 1x Engine & AI powered Drone that is slaved to the manned unit.
A rear seat operator should be able to give "High-Level" commands to the slaved AI Drone fighters.

If both aircraft look "Similar Enough", it would be hard to distinguish them in combat & at long distance.

This way, 1x Manned Aircraft can probably have 3x Slaved Drone Fighters accompanying it in Combat formation.
Then you could literally have 2x Manned Aircraft controlling 8x Aircraft in total.

A literal force multiplier.

As long as the AI still has full human control... I mean don't want any mistakes

That's the point, the GitB (Guy in the Back) controls the 3x Slaved AI Drone Fighters.

Gives them "High-Level" Directives & Combat Orders.

Well that's a good thing ...... Fully autonomous would be a bad thing... As in AI that you give one order then it runs off and carries that out and comes back, that one could be problematic.

I'm not silly enough to give the AI "Full Control".

The GitB would need to designate the targets, give "Lock-On Permission" on said targets, give the strategy / plays to the Drones.

Then give "Final Authorization" for the shot with a estimated probability of hit feed back to the GitB.

Somehow I missed this Magnus effect RC plane from 12 years ago:

It's probably way too Kerbal to be used practically - too inefficient and potentially several single-point failure modes - but then it seems the tilt rotor is a thing in reality.

As for the F-47, it's Boeing so expect cost overruns and late delivery? How many maintenance hours per flight hour - better or worse than the 6:1 for the F-35? I'm guessing it'll only be for the US military as no-one wants to buy from the US at the moment.

I doubt the US will sell the F-47 to anybody else.

It doesn't seem to be designed for "Joint Sales Operations".

The Program was designed so that the US has a "Dominant Air Superiority Fighter".

And this is what they're going with.

Who is the F-47 going to dominate given that the US might close down many of its overseas bases to save money or get asked to leave because it keeps threatening its allies? I can only assume Canada, Mexico and Cuba, the last of which is no threat. It sounds like something DOGE should investigate as a large government-funded boondoggle.

You do know about the Chinese threat to invade Taiwan, right?
Or have you not been paying attention to Geo Politics?

And Russia's invasion of Ukraine is a real problem.

In an online biographical article, I came across this photo of an airplane that was owned by Joshua Haldeman, the maternal grandfather of Elon Musk. JOOC, can anyone identify the aircraft?

Yep, that's the one. BTW, I've added a link to my original post for anyone who's interested in reading the article.

The same Joshua Haldeman as the Nazi, sorry, Social Credit loser who fled Canada?
