No trailer yet (they're still filming for a 2025 release) but we do have an extensive cast list, which includes those from "USS Callister" for its much-anticipated sequel:

Awkwafina, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Paul Giamatti, Lewis Gribben, Rashida Jones, Siena Kelly, Rosy McEwen, Chris O’Dowd, Issa Rae, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Harriet Walter, with Milanka Brooks, Osy Ikhile, Billy Magnussen, Cristin Milioti, Paul G. Raymond, and Jimmi Simpson all presumably reprising their characters from "USS Callister." Curiously absent is Michaela Coel, who the io9 article overlooks and instead focuses on Jesse Plemnos' unsurprising absence.

I remember enjoying "USS Callister," although I haven't seen it since its original airing, but I'm nonetheless looking forward to watching its sequel. Outside of it, I'm very excited to see Awkwafina, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Paul Giamatti, Rashida Jones, Issa Rae, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Harriet Walter play around in the Black Mirror universe.
 
Actors is one thing, material to work with is something else...Beyond the Sea had great performances but I couldn't get past my issues with the plot, and I still remember that weird trailer at the end of The woman who Fell to Earth when Chibnall showed off all the actors he'd hired but not what they'd be doing :brickwall:

I hope S7 is, at least, as good as S6 which for me had a 60% hit rate, in that I loved Loch Henry, Demon 79 and Joan is Awful and wasn't so keen on the other two. I think that's a reasonable hit rate for an anthology show.

In addition to the extensive cast list we already knew about, Will Poulter appears to be returning to the show, presumably as a different character (wouldn't be the first time that's happened, Hannah Kamen comes to mind), although he does appear to be in a video game manufacturing setting. Still no sign of Michaela Coel but we also don't get to see much of the USS Callister sequel.

Peter Capaldi looks wonderfully sinister and I'm fascinated about the time-wimey AI shenanigans.

Looks interesting, also looks predominantly techy which is a shame given my two favourite episodes from season 6 were more horror (Loch Henry obviously had a Netflix/true crime angle). Have they given up on the Re Mirror brand?

Also do we know how many episodes this will have? Scratch that it's six episodes! :lol:

All of the episodes look great but I'm especially curious about "Eulogy" and "Hotel Reverie." Yeah, yeah, yeah, "USS Calister: Into Infinity" (colon inferred...), too, even if Michaela Coel is noticeably absent.

Also, I was right: Will Poulter is reprising his "Bandersnatch" character! With two episode sequels this season, can we please, please, pease, please get a "Hate Nation" sequel next season?!

One last thing. This image seized my attention during the fast clip at the beginning:

Initially, I thought this was USS Callister's version of Deep Space 9 but, alas, it looks more like Nidavellir from Avengers: Infinity War.
 
Weirdly I've still never seen Bandersnatch (My TiVo couldn't handle it at the time. I should probably watch on my laptop or tablet but kinda forgot it existed! Plus the concept irked me because people were proclaiming choose your own adventure as a stunning new concept when it's been around in book form since the 80s!)

Anyhoo. I'm hoping there's more to Common People than the trailer implies because they seem to have given the game away.

Really hoping the twist in Bête Noire isn't just she's a robot!

Even if Hotel Reverie is just the Black Mirror equivalent of a holodeck gone wrong Trek story it looks like it'll be amazing anyway.

Plaything and Eulogy are intriguing me most at the moment. In particular I wonder if Eulogy is inspired in part by Sapphire and Steel's Assignment 4? Brooker is only a smidge younger than me so it's likely he may have seen this back in the day, if not more recently)

That leaves USS Callister and I can't wait to see this, even setting aside how fun the first one was, Milioti was soooo good in Penguin!

Conversely, I  loved that episode precisely because I loved those books and I eagerly brought them up anytime someone talked about that episode. You can't help ignorance.

I also loved that episode because it included my favorite Tangerine Dream album is a plot point and part of a choice. :D

Perhaps but I am curious by the idea of planting advertisements in someone's mind. That concept was briefly mentioned on Futurama but only for laughs. I would love to see that idea explored seriously.

My initial thought was Verity had manipulated Maria's memories (including how they knew each other at school) in order to get closer to her. But the synopsis suggests they were actually classmates.

...unless that's misdirection, too...

Yup, agreed. The visuals alone makes that adventure wild and I cannot wait for that experience. Hopefully there is more to it than that surface but I'll be happy with just that.

I never watched Sapphire and Steel but I cannot overstate how much I love idea of stepping into photographs and walking around in its memories...but then that causes havoc on those memories.

I still haven't watched Penguin, mostly because I'm not a fan of that version of the character...or the fact Colin Farrell wore so much make-up that he looked like someone else. Why not just hire someone who looks like that, especially when he doesn't sound or act anything like Farrell? But I digress...

(I will say I've been mildly tempted by the show specifically because what I've heard about Milioti's performance)
 
@The Nth Doctor She is superb, but then I think Farrell is superb also ;)

Re Sapphire and Steel, because I know you love classic Who and so can see past low budgets and ropey production values circa the 1970s then I would heartily recommend S&S to you! I rewatched it for the first time in decades last year and enjoyed it immensely. The show's biggest flaw is that there's only six stories
 
Plus all of those extra stories Big Finish produced (the only reason I've even heard of that show is because of Big Finish).
 
Charlie Booker says he's considering more episode sequels:

“There’s a degree of freedom within the format,” he said. “We’ve done a sequel for the first time this season. We’re now looking at old episodes and thinking, ‘How could you revisit that idea?’ As long as it’s interesting, I’m allowed to make it and people continue to fucking watch, I’d like to keep making the show.”​

Give me my "Hated in the Nation" sequel!!! I need more Kelly Macdonald and Faye Marsay together!
 
Works for me. Gives us plenty of opportunities for that "Hated in the Nation" sequel. ;)

...you can tell I'm a bit obsessed about that notion.
 
I just rewatched "USS Callister" and I'm glad I did because I had forgotten certain details, particularly the fact that Walton's digital clone sacrificed himself at the end but didn't reappear on the bridge along the others after the escape. Yet, you see him on the bridge during the trailer alongside blue-skinned Tulaska, although they are in Callister uniforms and not the uniforms the crew gained after escaping. So something odd is going on there...

Also, I forgot about the terrifying torture Daly inflicted upon Nanette when he simply removed her face. "Forever" gasping for breath when she has no mouth (or nose, but he didn't mention that...) and yet cannot die. Fuck, that's dark.
